Still confident.astracab wrote:big day tomorrow do or die... are england gonna be coming home ?????
Crap performance in the last match yet still undefeated and other than Rob Greens howler, they still wouldn't have conceeded a goal. That's a great basis to build from. I would have kept Green for the last match but I am glad James is in goal. Out of 3 above average keepers, he is the one that can be class on his day.
If England had started and rolled teams over like Portugal did a few days back I would have been worried about peaking too soon but still have confidence of at least the quarters TBH. Thereafter it's a lottery for any team.
I would like a 3 goal margin but can see it being 1, scrappy, possibly 0-0 at half time. If they draw they are through so expect 10 men behind the ball. I actually want to see 3-5-2 (yes, initially with Heskey) not the commonly requested 4-5-1. You will HAVE to pressure that final third, big time.

The England team went to visit an orphanage in South Africa.

Re: englands world cup chances
Munky, hush now, just this once.
Im not a fan of the morals behind football, but i am a proud Englishman, and i want us to win. Ive given the staff under me 90minutes off, on the premise they work another 45minutes today, and 45 tomorrow.
COME ON YOU OVERPAID BUNCH OF CNUTS - DO US PROUD!!

Re: englands world cup chances
i believe the topic of being a 'proud englishman' and how this doesnt relate in any single way to following a football team has already been covered....

There's the start, if USA knock one in this tie will come alive.
Glad it came when it did, no-one was creating space in the middle then the goal went in and some movement came.
More goals yet but I can only envisage a reply from a set piece.

I told you!
They will kick on from this.
I now hope that retard stops spamming a subject he has neither understanding or interest in? I doubt it as otherwise he won't hit his daily post quota!
USA through too! Fantastic!

Re: englands world cup chances
Was delighted that Defoe got the goal, he adds a touch of class to the attack, I reckon crouch and Heskey are not good enough for WC level. As I said earlier in this thread (I think it was this thread) if someone daid 4 years ago the two of them would be in the 2010 WC folks would reckon they were looney.

In fairness 'tis a bit lame calling him a retard when he called you one a few hours ago in another thread. I expected better from you

ps, I understand football, and I do have an interest in it. My interest is that england get knocked out asap so I dont have to listen to ignorant knuckle-dragging c*nts like you babble on about it constantly.
Now, speaking of listening to retards with no clue what they're talking about... where's the budget thread....

We arent all like minded, munky is the exception to the rule , he knows this
Thing is he takes the abuse like a man and doesnt cry , unlike some other people which is a shame.
Light hearted banter is the key but i suppose its hard to portray over the internet.

USA by virtue of goals scored, they have the same goal difference as England but their 2-2 draw means they have scored 4 while England have scored 2!mg-richard wrote:so who goes through top of the group?

Re: englands world cup chances
Do you understand the concept of social interaction?
It must be hard for you to find friends, seeing how they absolutely must all share your every exact opinion, like and dislike for you to want to converse with them....
YOU keep making comments in this topic aimed at me... am I to ignore them, or reply to them?

Funnily enough I have friends who have no interest in football. Guess what they don't do? That's right they don't involve themselves in football topics, they put their efforts into something else rather than trying and failing to be the centre of every topic ever discussed.munky wrote:Do you understand the concept of social interaction?

Knitting, doesn't interest me or my friends so we don't enter knitting discussions, not a hard concept to grasp is it?

Re: englands world cup chances
As I said before Limey, I have an interest in football.
But that aside... and please correct me if I'm wrong, its just my interpretation of the words... but the topic title is 'englands world cup chances'. An open ended question if ever I saw one... a question to invite opinions from those of the opinion that they have a chance, those of the opinion that they have no chance, and anyone with any opinion on the subject.
I stated my opinion that I dont think they have a chance and dont want them to have a chance, a few pages ago now. At which point you embarked on your crusade to show that I am a bad person as a result of that opinion. It was going well until you lowered yourself to personal insults.
If I say opinion again a few times will you understand my point?
