I've used Firefox for years but the new update i got last week has made it awful, crashes constantly and so slow!
I downloaded Chrome about an hour ago and its absolutely amazing. So much faster than Firefox ever was!

Nor here. As a matter of fact I actually have grown to like not even just most, but all of the new button locations already - I was expecting to have to move them all back where they were before the upgrade, but no.

Just to be different, I've been using Opera exclusively for about six years. Probably for the next six years as well! If it wasn't free, I'd happily buy it, put it that way.

Re: What browser do people use?
I installled the IE9 update on my dad's windows 7 PC the other day and promptly uninstalled it after running it for the first time. Why have they done away with all the bars, buttons and menus?
I'm currently on firefox but haven't upgraded to the latest version. FF has definitely gone downhill and updating is such a hassle because I have to spend an hour or two putting everything "right".

If you don't like IE9, you are going to hate firefox 4. IE9 is actually easier to navigate than firefox 4Punx0r wrote:I installled the IE9 update on my dad's windows 7 PC the other day and promptly uninstalled it after running it for the first time. Thanks for the warning...
It looks like I'll be trying Chrome when my current FF version becomes unusable.

Re: What browser do people use?
was on chrome, love the interface with most visited sites. For some reason however it has started to stop working for say 30 seconds at a time, like my internet connection has failed, but it hasn't. Sooo back to IE it is

Reinstall? I'd much prefer to do that than having to wait for bloaternet exploder to load pages up like your on dial up.alexcornwall wrote:was on chrome, love the interface with most visited sites. Re: What browser do people use?
I was happily using IE8 but the video playback got so choppy it was like watching a slideshow and nothing I did solved it.
So I changed to Firefox 4 and I havent looked back (video playback is so much smoother. Im well impressed with it. It is always fast and responsive even when I have loads of tabs open at once.
Its a lifesaver for people like me with really old computers/operating systems who dont want to buy anything newer but still want modern up-to-date style browsing capabilities. Seeing how XP Users cannot get IE9 for their OS, other free browsers that have continued support are very useful.
Can the OP start a 'what version of office do you use (ms office 2007/10, libreoffice or online office services (msn, google, whatever, etc)) as it would be interesting to know what everyone uses...

Re: What browser do people use?
I use chrome on Windows and Firefox on my netbook which I use Ubuntu on (well, it has windows but I haven't used it for months).
Chrome just does everything way quicker I find. They're all basically the same function wise as far as I'm concerned but the others seem to lag in loading up etc, so chrome ftw. Especially noticable on my slow work pc.

Re: What browser do people use?
Yes, except we HAVE to use IE7 for oracle functionality. It focks me right off seeing the loading circle just frozen while it goes and makes a cup of tea.Sheaf wrote:Especially noticable on my slow work pc.
