George Macmurdie surfaces again...

George Macmurdie surfaces again...

Post by Chipper »

....like the proverbial turd that won't flush. He has been sniffed out on the PistonHeads forums.

One comment of his that made me sit open-mouthed was in a entitled "What Valuable Lessons Have You Learned?"
Don't rip people off in business and re pay your dedts even when you think you can get away with avoiding them although tbh I'm still pretty bad on this front, getting better with age though.

george
He also started a thread enquiring about trying to steal wi-fi passwords, and remedies for foot odour.

His profile, feel free to troll him or place an appropriate warning in the MG/Rover forum on PH, as I'm not exactly in full possession of the facts.

Yeah, that's him, he's been keeping a very low profile for a while now.

He's still around on the X-power forums and the ZS forum and to be honest from what i've seen he has made a turn around and building some reputation back up again. Some members swear by him and say they've never had a problem with his work.

I'd still never forgive him for his past though and would never trust buying anything off him unless i collected it in person though.

He did my conversion for me..

Yea the timing was out.. But all he did was buy a donar swap it over see if it started which he did and gave me a 2 month warrenty of which i went back and got a 220 coupe cambelt engine mount swapped from a 620ti one, A new alternator and he sorted some electrical issues out..

And in Tbh the Conversion is pretty good, Some Vry very minor niggles as to were some bits were mounted but this was sorted under the warranty were he tidied everything up..

Told me he ripped you off?

Guy doesn't deserve any defence, I've seen the work he has done previously, and heard enough horror stories from his past that I would never trust him no matter how little value it was.

OK so the timing was wrong, the engine mount was wrong, the alternator didn't work and it also had other electrical issues.

Yes a great conversion by all accounts.

The only R S M car I saw was a laugh, I had to rebuild the gearbox - well ok fair enough they aren't indestructable.
However the engine mounts weren't right and the wiring was held together with the obligatory scothloks. Everytime you accelerated hard the ECU became unplugged too. A fantastic security feature :)

I dont have no problems my earth snapped and killed my alternator, and would not rev out :) which was the only real frustrating one and that was the timing being out fault of previous owner..

So apart from them and it costing more than it should, Touch wood is pretty good now :)

He has a sticky dedicated to him on this website in the 'MG/ Rover Chat', section. A topic merge might be a good idea ?

This is very old.

This is my own personal favourite:

This is more recent

Edit.
In fact, all these links relating to allegations are old.
I haven't seen any recent substantiated complaints about his new company's workmanship.
