Think he's lying again...

Post by gearinator »

Hi guys. Bit of a long story with my old man but he's basically a compulsive lier. Anyway after 6 months of not seeing him he rolled up today with a zt 190. He's owned it for the last 4 months and to my surprise was in top nick and I mean top nick. Anyway he tells me it been mapped and its producing 226bhp with a cat back that's it.
I had a little go in it and I wasn't impressed for the power he was claiming. It was however a great place to be , really smooth, comfortable and seemed to go ok but not as well as what you would expect for the power figure he gave me.
My question is that is the power figure possible of a re map. I'm thinking not bit I'm sure someone could clarify.
He's sat opposite to me now so of he's lying I'm going to make him look very stupid

I think it would need, decent induction kit, decat, and system to see anything more than 10bhp

It's a nasp at end of the day, they do respond as well a turbos do as far as I know

Thats sad Dan I dont know the reasons or expect you to share them. But sit down with him mate and talk about things and try to get him to make an effort. If that does not work you will be able to say to yourself mate that you tried.

Similar happened to someone I know and by the time he went to try and sort things out it was to late he had passed away :(

I barely see my dad, it's only on birthdays like mine, brothers or my sons I see him,, xmas, Easter etc...

And only saw him most Sunday's and got £5 pocket money because his now wife made him give me and my brother it.

So don't really bother with him anymore since I learnt the truth about the way he was with us and is doing the same with my son (his grandson). Once again it's his wife that makes him come see him because SHE wants too see him. She gets on really well with my mum and is always asking about us and the little one, buys him things etc...

My dad don't bother so why should I make the effort. It's a shame really!

Sorry life story or what, I started and it all just came out

1997 mum diagnosed with brain tumour was removed.

2001 mum diagnosed with second brain tumour was removed

2002 mum has stroke

2003 mum apendix burst

2008 dad has heart attack and lives

2008 me and partner loose a baby

2011 october time dads brother dies of cancer in liver , bowels ect

2011 december time dads sister dies of brain embolism

2013 mum has another tumour growing waiting on scan results to see if opp needed.

2013 dad has to have liver biopsy due to on going illness

Reading this comment has just put a big lump in my throat and I feel myself welling up..........

Fortunately, I really get on with both my folks. Even though I live 15 miles away, I go to see them every Wednesday and Sunday and spend quality time with them.
It's the only time the 220 gets a run.

Heads up guys :) Family is what you make it, I guess. Some of you have girlfriends, wives, kids. These are your families, these are the people you hold so dear, especially when parents have passed or if you don't get on with them. :)

My boy the other night he is now 5 turns round and says to me "daddy when you are old will you die" I shrugged it off and hopping he would forget about it. He then turns to other half and says "mummy when you older will you die". She just said everyone goes to the angels at some point when old. He then burst into tears saying I wont have a mummy and daddy then and please dont die when you old  that made me well up and I had to leave the room. Its the thought of later on in life there will come a time when I wont be here for my kids

God willing, and clean living  hopefully you should have 50+ years left in you yet! :)

Just make sure your kids know you love them dearly, when they are adults too.
My Father excepted, some men can be emotionally crippled and find it weak to express emotions, true human emotions.

At least when the time does come, years into the future, your kids will know in their hearts that their Dad dearly loved them and that can give immense comfort. :)

Sorry to sound a bit morbid. :D

226bhp for a ZT190? Perhaps with ITB's, decent exhaust manifolds and system and suitable mapping, or with a supercharger kit.

just to go along with the the you only get one dad bit.

this is true and treasure it while, you can yeah he may seem like a inflatable dinghy and everything but there is nothing worce than loossing your dad and if you loose him while you think he chupa chup youll regreat it for the rest of your life. so make friends with him not having that one person to turn to when life gets hard is so painfull

trust me i would give anything to get my dad back

10 years march 19th died when i was nearly 7

rip dad :'(

I only live 15-20 miles from my parents to 34dan. My dad is closer than my mum's and go past his to get to my mum's.

As much as I'd like to have regular contact with him for the sake of my son having another grandad in his life, he nhasnt made the effort to see me for nearly 26 years of my life and the 3 years of my sons. So why should I have to make it all to see him when my son doesn't even know him enough to know he's his grandad.

He sees my mum's fiance as his grandad.

My sister disappeared in 1991.

I know that's not relevant to what we were talking about.Sore, though.

Uh huh. "Cease to be visible, pass from sight or from existence."

That's the dictionary's definition of 'disappear'. I don't know what else I can tell you.
