Sounds like a great idea to me, just as long as us barge owners aren't left out. Hey, we're an eccentric breed, should provide some curiousity interest at least!

keep on posting guys and we can make this a sticky as i think it will happen, if the film makes any money after i have recouped costs then i would only be too happy to donate some cash to help Rovertech.

I am looking to start ASAP so anyone have good starting points? who is up for an interview followed by an in depth description of their car LOL, the more footage i can get the better also any great stories is good too, so have a good think those of you who are interested and we can get going on this :D

also we need to organise what events we are going to cover, and some private track top speed runs etc, or a shoot out between members,I can hopefully get good rates by stating that tracks etc will get a mention on the programme, so we could organise off road things to help make the programme excellent - we have many options 8)

Community spirit, laughing and joking, I thought thats what made this place what it is, for instance I can heckle Tom no end, but, I mean no malice to him, or Sheaf whom I rib on occasions
This place is what it is because we work together to help each other when we can.

I hope this is not going to be a 100% serious film  it needs some humor.

Anthony- just a thought. i wrote an artcile a while ago that i was hoping to post off to some car mags, about how the internet and forums like this are keeping the rover mg brand not only alive, but thriving!

Is this the kind of angle your going for?

broke back mountain style angle?! dave and dave LOL...

But seriously, tis a good idea! Dont see many TV programs about the tinternet, cos it scares people....

I was a noob when i joined, knew nothing about cars. Got recommended by word of mouth believe it or not, that was before it was rovertech (roverload). Got myself a car, it was nackered, rovertech tought me (along with a haynes) how to fix it! I was worried about taking it anywhere as no one would do a good job without ripping me off. all the RT peeps continually put up with what must have seen like lame donkey boy questions for weeks on end.

So eventually, did it myself, and it was pucka! And i enjoyed it lol, not something id previously done.

went to a few meet ups, and all was good.

Even took it upon myself to go and do a half rebuild on someone elses engine, only for the cost of parts and a chicken kebab. Id do it again aswell!

But yeah, its unlike any other car forum at least on the internet, its cool...

Twas the same whoth me scott- i didnt even know where a filler cap was, then found rovertech thanks to my mate Leo, and now there no job too small.
Thanks to rovertech ive tracked down a bargin fast car, and thanks again to RT's network of people, ive managed to source any bits ive needed, not to mention a lot of very good advice.- That reminds me, thanks scott for all the advice you gave me on msn, about reconning an engine head! 8)

tell you what anthony, i reckon if you did a good job local tv to me i.e. bbc midlands would probably be interested. they love any news about Rover and the people surrounding it. especially as there is now the even more local Birmingham TV, although that's only on digital things.

a barge shootout you say? could be very interesting. however i would say don't place any bets on me, i drive like a granddad

most of the time anyway.... ;)

I'm itching to go on a Rovertech day out. Pod would be ideal for me, but would travel. I wouldn't expect to feature as I haven't exactly done a lot with my car modification wise, nor am I an old hand round here :) But it'd be a double-bonus if I could spot my car in the background somewhere 8)

Top idea that man, I'd pay for a copy on DVD if it didn't make it to the telly :)

fordimus that sounds like a good idea i just need to think about how best to get that across in the film, we could do it interview and then a practical car lesson around someones house, incorporating the rovertech site as it happens ie when people post we can maybe see that person typing their post etc, then people meeting up for off road shoot outs etc - will deffo do this but just need to think it through

sidepants another good idea lets talk about this in the near future! :)
Even took it upon myself to go and do a half rebuild on someone elses engine, only for the cost of parts and a chicken kebab. Id do it again aswell!

Scott this is the sort of thing that makes rovertech so good to be part of and will deffo be in the film.

A barge shoot out is on the cards - it would be really nice to have synchronised barge footage too LOL, we may as well make it as pretty as poss as this looks good on tv.

Any TI owners out there want to be involved i know there are a few out there! - including myself, modified or standard is good. Would love to feature these.

Turbo Coupes too!

also any NASP's tuned or standard, as this is about the community spirit on Rovertech which means every member is able to get help for their Rover. So if any of you have a good story to tell i want to hear from you!

I think a pod meet will be in too just need to sort out the mechanics of it - filming positions etc

Regards Anthony

honda powA VS Rover powa

Super saloon shoot out (620ti, 420ti 820ti)

Battle of the coupes

T series Cup

Nasp shoot out

Metro shoot out

Best of the best (winners of each class)

Ok, might be a bit of a feat to organise, but hell that would be quite an event, and worthy of a documentary.

Ooh. Rovers + Airfield = Bloody good footage!

I know someone who owns an airfield in Cornwall, but that's probably a bit out of the way for most people.
