Good films - your suggestions please?

For things that don't fit into a category. i.e. non-motor related subjects.

Yeah your completely right with your descriptions mate and although i do sometimes consider external facts what you have mentioned i just personally didnt enjoy watching it that much i know that is sacriledge to die-hard martial arts fans.
your right with the comparisons with porn and they also have the same budget and picture qualty lol

i preferred fist of fury, and is it way of the dragon where he fights chuck at the end?

i always thought seagal was a badass in nico and some of the others

although i suppose i can see why fans loved enter the dragon i think it was abit before my time to appreciate the whole concept of it, although i do enjoy watching old films and id say i do have a wide variety of tastes when it comes to films

k-pax is adecent spacey film

theres some really good films coming out too

deception
pathology
the forbidden kingdom
pineapple express
forgetting sarah marshall ??
iron man
incredible hulk
hellboy 2
indianna jones
the strangers---looks like a good horror loosely based on true stories or actual events

what did anybody think to unbreakable? i thought it was a really good film but everyone iv spoken to thinks it tosh

i watched running scared a few weeks ago and its a really cool film to watch has anybody seen it yet?
good stuff

You can not ignore this this film, possibly the best ever british "B" movie, low budget, excellent acting, no cheeseyness/perfect white teeth hollywood smiles etc etc whatsoever ; DEAD MANS SHOES. go see it now if you haven't already,

If you like dark atmosheric movies then ' The Name of The Rose' with Sean Connery and a young Christian Slater is tremendous.
If you like road movies then the original 1971 'Vanishing Point' with Barry Newman is amongst the best.
Beware the later version/s which are instantly forgettable.
Another rare but good road movie is 'The California Kid' with Martin Sheen and Joe Estevez - yes they are the daddies... :D

I though that Paddy Consodine in 'Dead Man's Shoes' was so utterly believable. Best UK 'Avenging Angel' role since Caine in 'Get Carter'!
surely all you guys rate the rocky collection?
Rocky - superb!
Rocky 2 - 99% as good; tears to my eyes at the end
Rocky 3 - cheesy
Rocky 4 - stilton-cheesy
Rocky 5 - slight credibity
Balboa - didn't bother!!

I was a fan of Stallone ever since his token part in 'Bananas' and early Machine Gun Joe Viturbo in 'Death Race 2000' and for all his portfolio of films, he forgot one thing! .... A follow-up to 'Nighthawks'. Another Deke Dasilva cop film would have made him a fortune.

Rocky 4 maybe cheesy but it's a bloody brilliant film hehe
I don't think anybody in it's day said it was crap :D

(sly in copland is very decent acting I thought, very different than usual and shows he has/had some talent)

Ok so rocky 4 didn't have the gritty and believable storyline of the first to give it an oscar but as pure escapism and america-is-the-best-ism it's fun hehe

ohhh which brings me on to ...

National Lampoons!!!

Any of the Vacation films (well later ones are a bit pants but...)

Sorry, late again - it was crap!

The bo11ocks at the end about 'if I can change and you can change then we can change!' Get me a bucket - - too late!! :puking:

Animal House was great - other Nat Lam ones are very watered down. Chevvy Chase is a lightweight. Did his best stuff years ago in stand-up, I'm afraid. :(

As far as 300 goes, it's probably only about 20% accurate to the recordings of the battle, but as films go, I loved it to bits. I've no idea how many times I've watched it so far.
The fight sequences are very good, any and all CGI is well done, the acting is not poor, and the blood is just about right.
