Anyone "really" in to RC nitro cars ?

For things that don't fit into a category. i.e. non-motor related subjects.

Anyone "really" in to RC nitro cars ?

Post by Cableguy »

I meant the "really" bit , coz this is a toughy.

Can anyone identify the car below , and also i need a spur gear for 1st gear on the middle diff , which is why i need to find the model of car so i can get one. Chances are its discontinued so alternatives would be good.

Shell has Carson on it , but chassis has GS racing , so its a little confusing. Looks to be 1:5 or 1:6 scale at around 30" long.

Shell is a jaguar s type.

Not completely sure, but looking at that air filter I think it could possibly be derived from this model...

That's not a Carson chassis, as they never did a big scale 4WD race car.... possibly a CEN

At any rate chances of getting parts are non-existant... it looks old! Plus both the centre drive shafts are missing (edit, just spotted one sticking out at a very weird angle!)

I recon that's been a buggy at some stage and has been converted. It has a buggy front shock tower that isn't attached to anything, grass tyres and an engine so small it'll struggle to pull itself off the line

Best get a new chassis and stick all the electrics from this car into it

Cheers for the input mate, it was like this from new , it does date back a while but its deffo always been on road.

Driveshafts etc.. are disconected and in pieces ready for me to refit lol.

The engine is a 3.5 and is surprisngly quick , or at least was before it stripped its gears.

What chassis could i get that would take these shock towers/wheels/hubs/electrics etc.. and use a ready abailible centre diff and shafts ?

Found out its a Sinya Tempo.

Well done though because that is actually a buggy of 1/8th scale , this has at some stage a long time ago been converted for rally use.

It uses a force 21 engine though which is easy enough to get spares for , and will inevitably find its way on to my hotbodies lightning 10
