Can you cook a burger in the toaster?
I was very tempted to try this earlier. I reckon it should work. Afterall, it does a good job on frozen potato waffles.
Grease will likely run out the bottom, though.
A google search didn't reveal anyone who had tried it, but apparently some microwavable burgers have been recently introduced to some supermarkets.

Re: Can you cook a burger in the toaster?
I think given the greasy nature of a burger, and the open heating elements of a toaster - the outcome is pretty much a given. However, assuming this hurdle was overcome - I don't know about your toaster, but mine struggles just to do toast properly, so food poisoning is definitely on the cards.
Least with a microwave you can Chernobyl the little bugger to make sure it is cooked - can't imagine it will come out as appetising as when grilled or fried though. Just like when you microwave fishfingers, they just aren't the same.

I reckon it'd work, but would create so much mess and smoke it wouldn't be worth it. Bbq FTW.

Re: Can you cook a burger in the toaster?
Are people's lives reeeeally that busy that they don't have time to cook a 'proper' burger by conventional means?! Folk need to stop all this stressy running around "not enough hours in the day" malarky and relaaaax
Re: Can you cook a burger in the toaster?

Re: Can you cook a burger in the toaster?
The problem I had is my oven doesn't have a separate grill, so I can't use it while the oven chips are cooking. Which means I have to use the George Formby, which is frustratingly messy and annoying to clean.
I reckon the toaster would do a good job of evenly cooking it. The heating elements are densely arranged and very close to the food.
Curiosity may get the better of me one day.
The toasty bag isn't a bad shout if I wanted to be sensible about it

Re: Can you cook a burger in the toaster?
if its the toaster at home: NO
if its the toaster at work: id give it a try
The George foreman i have the grill plates are quick release so you can put them into the sink to soak while you eat, by the time you finish they clean with ease

Re: Can you cook a burger in the toaster?
I just checked mine and it looks like you have to remove several screws to get the grill plates out. It's one of the small original ones.
Silly design, really.
