No it barely makes sense to me

You need to put some background of what its about

Otherwise it sounds like a brothel with good parking :D

Based on the questioning I'd say it's a re-surfacing of the old public garage setup.

It's been thought of before and it's besmirched with too many issues and costs to be really viable as a business model.

Thank you for reply's,it hard to say too much without people taking ideas as it is getting posted elsewhere as well sorry.
I have put the basic concept, but in theory is much larger scale then what survey shows.
I have put a basic business plan together, with other ways to get money, but at the moment have to be more selective in what put down.
I would be willing to join other people within staffordshire, I'm currently looking for premises to start to work out costs with a few different options.
Would like profit eventually, but it more interest, also helping local community & hopefully others eventually.

I think it would be better to for people to become members, then you can book say 5hrs per month for free.
And you pay a monthly fee say £10-20?

Then any more ad hoc time needed you just pay x amount an hour

You should try and give some other value added service to the membership aswell like 1 free car wash
(you should have a steam cleaner on site, coin or token operated)
Industrial hoover, or use of things like a machine polisher perhaps

You need to have a regular income (membership fee)
the banks and your landlord will love that as its a regular income

dude, no one is going to steal your idea, all we can do is offer advice,

unless your business is going to be national even if it was a good idea it wouldnt matter anyway!

The survey has some serious flaws and the secrecy doesn't help in making it any clearer. You need to impart more information to yeild some useful feedback.

Did I read this post wrong, isn't it a "pay and go" self service garage rental? I cant see how these ideas work, there is a garage by me that hires out the workshop. I asked them this question, they weren't sure on how to respond. What if you book the ramp for 2 hours to do a lower arm and then the threads strip on the chassis? Car stuck on ramp, next person booked can't use ramp. Game over.

With all that I have no idea what it is but I hope it is a success for you.

Not really an original idea though, I've seen it crop up numerous times over the years, particularly when the modified scene was in full swing.

As I said in my first post, it's not a viable business model. There are too many variables to go wrong, pengy pointed out a good one. How many times have you gone outside to do a "10 min" job on the car and ended up using half a day?

Then you've got the issue of having UN-trained people using heavy-lift equipment, no insurance company would touch that with a barge-pole however if by some miracle you found one that would, the premium would be massively expensive.

This is just the tip of the iceberg, I reckon I could come up with a list as long as your arm as to why it wouldn't work.

If the survey doesn't talk about the idea in full then how is it a survey of the business idea? Waste of time.
