The last few months I have been thinking about whether or not I'm bored of the rover
It's not my main car and I have no reason to sell, maybe just a phase
Anyone ever think sod it and sell up or start thinking about it?
All the time

Mines still in bits and nearly everyday i think, while its in bits might as well break it!
BUT
I keep thinking about selling my old coupe and how i missed it so im determined to keep this one- though i may need a fix it day to get it back on the road..........................and about £2k to sort the body work
I feel the need................. the need to boost!
Recently, when I was sort of toying with the idea of selling mine, I wrote out a potential ad for it. It made me realise how much money I've spent on it in the 5 years I've had it. Thousands. The most I could probably sell it for would be 700 quid. I'd feel like I was giving it away, and all my time and money had been wasted. (Scottish, you see.)
I'll be hanging on to mine for a bit yet, I think...
I should've quit you a long long time ago. then I wouldn't be here with all my trouble, down on this killing floor

Ill go with an evo bug but can't stand scoobys. Can certainly see why you would rather have your evo but I would pick a coupe turbo over pretty much all scoobys barring an sti all day long

i think what you find with your car is that its worth a lot more to you than it is to other people.
I certainly suffer with this

i got rid of my gsi last weekend and havent looked back just a money pit spent just over £5500 in a year on it and glad its away and wont look back.
if i ever buy another one i will be buying one like ry220s,blackshadows,ghall or vinnys so i can just jump in it and drive it and enjoy it without having to spend anything on it apart from servicing etc.

you've only just been telling me to hang on to mine vinny. all my mates have been telling me i will regret getting rid so im hanging on to it for the time being. i will re-evaluate after the show season but i cant help spending more unnecessary money on engine bay bling so thats probably more money i wont get back

It is hard to not spend money on them and your rite will never get it back but it seems worth it at the time
Don't drive the coupe at the mo as I can't justify the expense of running a car that I found myself driving less than once a month. So my thinking for a while has been to get a more practical and usable performance car. Problem then is what to do with the coupe.
The coupe isn't really worth a lot and could do with some work to bring it back to its former glory. Selling it would yield a forgettable amount of capital, and would inevitably end up with me enduring it being broken on the forum. Breaking it myself would be heartbreaking but from a practical point of view I'd still be lumbered with bits of car everywhere. Ultimately it's unlikely that I will part with it.
Audi B6 S4 Avant
Rover 221 coupe turbo 255.5bhp & 256.1lbs/ft (in the garage)
Rover 214 Mk3 Turbo Conversion (in bits)
Rover 416 GSi (in the garden)
I think if your using your car as a toy/ weekend car then I think their worth keeping as I don't think you can get a cheaper car to run that is as quick (insurance wise) as they are classed as classic now - well mine is.
I've been thinking of going down the ZR conversion route but to do it properly (register, insurance etc) is gonna cost a lot more than running the coupé.
Some parts are getting used to get hold of or are damn expensive (engine mounts anyone?) But some parts arestill cheap as chips.

Ive got bored and felt like selling many a time. Something new is always better. Much like a woman.
Problem is when you look at the hassle of changing and the fact that ultimately the replacement might not perform half as well as what you have...
