HI all <56k go make a roast dinner>

Post by Squaddiemodo »

The boss has let me use comms his port for half an hour so i thought i would let you all know whats been happening :)

About 4 months ago i got posted to my new unit in Bulford, which if you remember the topics at the time included my crummy house (still not sorted). Well i was in the job 2 days when i was given 24 hours notice to move to afganistan. So there i was for 4 months completely without RT or any type of t'internet due to my location. My only comms were my 30 mins of phone use a week, which i used to chat to my beautiful wife rach :).

Well about 3 weeks ago i got notice to move again, this time to iraq, where fortunatly i have landed in a Royal Navy base for 6 months, which i can only describe as HMS Pipe 'n' Slippers. Rather suited to an 800 driver i might add.

I cant really talk about what i was up to in Afgan, but here i am looking after the comms for the Naval Transistion Team, who are turning Iraqs Navy and Marines into a true coastal defence force, so that they can look after the 2 sea bound oil platforms, that are Iraqs only real oil income providers, as all the other wells are still toast from when saddam blew them up. So ya boo sucks to all those that say we are in this for the oil. Anyway, life here is really chilled out i have my own cabin, with t'internet, good food, a bar and a 9-5 job, which after 4 months in afgan is a real treat lol.

anyway here are a few pics of where i am, if anyone fancys sending me some stuff out, or even abusive letters, they can send it to

Um Quasar South Port
BFPO 641

or email me at the usual place

Once again hi guys and i will be home soon and bugging you just as i was before (hopefully i can persuade the boss as i am the comms guru here to unrestrict my comms port :P)
