noisy neighbours
how do i go about shutting the feckers next door up? they moved in about 6 months ago, and have been quite noisy in the late evenings since they moved in! these last fews weeks it has got to the point where i feel like chinning the tw@t! they are a 18/19 yo couple with a baby a few months old, now on every other night it seems that they palm the child off with some relative or other and hold late night (for during the week anyhow) parties, was 1 o clock last night, i've been round a couple of times and asked them politely to keep it down a bit as my 2 youngsters are getting woken up! they always apologise and say that it wont happen again, guess what? ten minutes later back to square one! last night was the last straw (well almost) and i went round and told the little feckers that if they woke my child up again i would flatten him!
possibly not the best course of action i know, but its just taking the pi$$ now and if something doesnt get done soon it will almost certainly come to that! RANT OVER!

Depends on there mindset. You can do the sensible option, which is go round, hopefully be invited in and sit down and just say look you know, its not really on, what can we do about this. If that doesnt work get the authorities involved.
Or you can work out when they sleep, and play very loud music through the wall and set your car alarm off alot.

as i said mate, i've been round a couple of times, and they have given empty promises! i've tried to be reasonable but got nowhere! as for the loud music and car alarm, would be a good idea apart from we get on very well with the other neighbours in the street and wouldnt want to upset them!MarkCoupe wrote:Depends on there mindset. I'm pretty sure you could get them a noise abatement order or something similar.

Housing association/council tenent?
They usually have a 12 month trial period,if they cause a nuisance then they can be evicted more or less straightaway.
Get in touch with the housing association and tell em ,write down ALL instances of disturbances...date /time /nature.
They will get a warning firstly.

contact your councel envirmental health (or what ever there called these days) explain the situation.
They will tell you what you need to do and how they will help.
Basicly you call them when there making too much noise and take readings.
If it's too loud the will call the copeers who will go in and turn it off. If they don't they will sease(cant spell it - means take) the equipment.
if they repeat constantly they can be evicted.

Trouble is most private landlords are forking scrooges and couldn't give a toss as long as they have a tenant. The last landlord I has was a cheap son of a mother hen, he wouldn't fix anything unless the agency threatened to do it for him and charge him.

Would it make any difference if you told them that you've asked nicely a few times, but they don't stick to it, which means you're going to have to go to the authorities if they don't pack it in? I.e. give them a final chance where they know exactly what the stakes are?
Just thinking that it might be better IF it can be solved this way because I bet they'll get very arsey if you dob them in.

Try the local authorities, might shake em up a bit. Failing that, I had a *sniff* I love u! of a neighbour who kept playing "The Perfect 10" by The Beautiful South, over & over & over again. I ended up knocking on the door, launching myself into his gaff. Little did I know he had 4 mates in there aswell.
Anyway, I just went loopy, they shat themselves & thats the last I heard.
Failing that, smack him in the mooey with a large halibut.

as i said, planting the fecker would be my preferred course of action, although im not too sure it would be the most sensible! was gonna barge in the other night, but the missus' talked me out of it! as some of you have said, think the Enviro health is gonna be the only way! not wasting my breathe going round again! Friday night tonight, wahoo, guess who's kids are gonna be kept awake? again?

Enviro health is the way forward, if they continue after they've done there thing, they'll get slapped with a noise abatement order, and if they still continue then stand to loose their stuff. Mind 9/10 things usually improve once they've had a visit, well did for us when we had trouble in our old old place
