hav'nt got an eggbox (ps3) but a mate got gears of war 2 and he recons it's "awsome"

call of duty 5 is released on friday

some people prefer driving games, i dont...i like to run around in a killing frenzy (cod4)

Depends on what sort of games you like playing as it's all subjective but for me i can't wait till xmas when the mrs will be getting me Guitar Hero world tour, COD5 and Left 4 Dead

Incedently there is a new dashboard coming out on the 19th which requires a hard drive. As you have got an arcade you can buy a 20gb HDD for £13 ( reconditioned ) from this site

You're kidding! It's great! I'm 73% through it now. The only slightly annoying thing is the amount of driving you have to do between missions, but the story, graphics and gameplay is fabulous.

for me i'd say

gears of war 2 which is awesome,
pure is a good game too its a quad biking game,
cod4 definately a must have in every collection,
tiger woods 09 looks really good but i've only played 07/08,
grid is ok but it's too much like forza,
fifa 09 is quite good too.

Just a question of taste I suppose, it's not as hardcore as I was hoping given the Far Cry credentials, still reckon it's freaking amazing to play (PS3, but same basically), and I do admit I have been heavily addicted to the game (40 hours playtime @ 77% completion. 21,000 rounds fired; playing on infamous difficulty - it panics you on occasion!)

I agree its not what was promised by the media and UBi by the way, Cryek should always have held onto the name IMO - but Crytek wouldn't have been allowed to put in as much blood as there currently is in FC2 (see : Crysis). Shame, the first one was quite gory. Was hoping for F.E.A.R-style gore, combined with Resistance:FoM-style action, and we got 50% of each category. Still great stuff though

Anyway, on with the thread ... COD5 looks jolly good but the single player looks tiny as per COD4.
fallout 3 getting good reviews but not for me, GoW and GoW2 unmissable, Unreal Tournament 3 if you can pick it up cheaply.

I just cannot get into it. The game structure is reminding me too much of assasins creed and that got on my nerves.
