Carbon / Fibreglass panels - Mk3

Post by Grant620 »

Hi
We have been searching for a couple of years now for a company to make us some carbon and fibreglass parts for the Rover 200 / 25 / MGZR.
Finally we have partnered up with a company that has 25 years experience in the military/aerospace field and has been making car panels for nearly 10 years.
I took a trip to see the company about a week ago and handled some of the parts they make.. Impressed is an understatement! They reject stuff that some major players would send out as perfect!
Also been and visited a couple of their other customers (mainly bodyshops) and spoken about fit and finish. The carbon parts were a straight bolt on fit. No prep needed!
The fibreglass parts need nothing other than a quick flat/clean and then spraying.
All places where panels bolt together are reinforced; if things screw into the panels then there are captive nuts/bolts moulded in and even tailgates are made complete without the need to bond to an inner skin.
So in summary - ideal.

We are looking to start a group buy to get things moving and make it worthwhile.
Prices will follow soon, so this is only to canvass interest.

Therefore, the following parts will be on offer initially (CF = laquered Carbon, FG = Fibreglass):
RP1) R200 Mk3 Bonnet (CF / FG)
RP2) R25/ZR Bonnet (CF / FG)
RP3) R25/ZR Bonnet without swage line up middle (CF)
RP4) ZR Front grille with no centre bar (CF)
RP5) R25/ZR front wings -pair- (CF / FG)
RP6) 200/25/ZR 3dr Roof skin (Will need extensive bodywork prep... not a DIY Job!) CF only
RP7) R25/ZR Mirror "caps" (CF)
RP8) MGF air intake scoops (side pods as standard, but CF)

A small run of 5 of any one item is needed to make it happen.
Some items will be made anyhow, whether a GB happens or not, but the prices if bought later WILL be higher!
Please ask any questions via PM, not on here. If a question gets asked a number of times I will update the information here. I would ask that you don't request additional parts at this juncture unless you require a minimum of 5 pieces! :P

So place your name below as follows:
1) Grant - RP3 CF, RP5 CF, RP6 CF, RP7 CF

Would've had an RP2 and RP5 in FG. SHame. Any ideas how much they'd cost for one offs? I've been trying to get hold of someone who does these...
