APEXI SUPER AVCR ELECTRONIC BOOST CONTROLLER

Post by timwishart »

Hi people, with GBP being so strong for us in the US at the moment I've contacted a few car part specialists over there and the best quote i've had for:

5+ delivered is: £183 with the Black model being £7 more at £190

10+ delivered is: £168 with the Black model being £7 more again at £175

This is a very good price I think you'll agree, as today i've seen a used one on here advertised for £200.

I will have to check with him about delivery to different addresses as i'd imagine the price he's told me would be for one large delivery as it'll probably cost him more to send to individual addresses. If I were to receive them I don't think they'd cost any more than £5 to send. I

I'm putting myself down for one, we need at least 5 to get the ball rolling, 10 for a better discount, and if there's more than 10 then maybe a bigger discount again.

Also put this up over at scoobynet the other day but only a couple of people have shown any interest.

remember import tax...which I think will be ~17.5% on it plus a handling fee.

Still at £168 + the various taxes delivery charges and handling fees it will still work out fairly cheap.

Yeah i would put at least £40 ontop for the various handling and tax. And P&P obviously, still ends up a good price.

Just as you are the leader of a group buy, you dont wanna end up with a £400 extra bill at the end of it.

HMRC are getting VERY tight on imports now.
I import maybe 5-6 large consignments a month plus 2-3 small ones a week.
I get away with a "lower" bill every 10 or so consignments... Used to be every other one!

My advice is not to get too excited about what appears at first to be a very cheap price as it WILL be + VAT, duty and handling.
You NEED to budget at least 35-40 per controller.
Not trying to do you out of sales, just helping you not lose cash!

Can't they send it as a gift? I know of another company that does this. In fact, I paid £3.50 for some silicone hose, delivered from Hong Kong the other week!

Oh, and how long do you plan to keep the group buy running for?

The problem with sending stuff marked as gift is that if customs find out, both parties i.e. the seller and buyer could be in for a very large fine running into thousands. For this reason most sellers wont risk it.
Stuff like clothes and jewelery you can get away with.

I'm not to keen on the getting caught side of it. Probably still be a reasonable price but i'd rather just look out for a secondhand one for £150 ish. So for this reason i'll say that this group buy is now closed i'm afraid.
