Martin has put forward an idea which is being considered. Otherwise I shall need help to make this happen and there is only so much I am aware off regarding tracks and locations throughout England.

We do need an annual meet though, in comparison to other forums and communities we are lacking the spirit.

On another note, in some cases forum rivalry is brought up and all that rubbish. I am more than happy to merge this meet with any other forums wanting to attend.

Fact is we have several forums made up of mostly the same members with some representing forum A more than forum B and so on. To counteract this I have entertained the following idea briefly, although it may be a bad name, but I hope you get the idea.

The Rover Forums Annual Meet.

Why would this benefit?

Well if you have read this far you will see I mentioned how most of us know each other in some way or form over the internets, but I am aware of several members on other forums I do not have the time to visit, whom I know for a fact I would like to meet and have a chat to.

If everything went to plan we are talking about an event being pushed across several communities with a great chance of success, as it would be 'The Meet' to go to for Rover owners, bar say POL and such events.

Its an idea and not set in stone, so don't hang me just yet if you don't like the idea :)

Multi Forum group would definitely be entertaining.

Im a member of various rover groups and i know there are a few that ,shall we say, "entertain the chavs" so to speak.

It would be a shame for the minority to spoil it for the majority (hence why i no longer use the "chav" forum)
I am only thinking about one particular forum though and the others i am a member of (RCOC and RC.net and obviously the best - rovertech!)are always friendly and helpful and would love to see a merge group with these.
I feel the need................. the need to boost!

We are working on it chaps, a lot of co-ordination involved or it could fall flat on its face. Also another idea has been to have a trade section consisting of Mark, Grant etc.

Also, second hand parts. Im thinking it could be a good idea if people wished to bring some gear they want to offload or give away, and with us all being in the same place at one time, it could prove fruitful I think. Like a car boot sale for those with the room and such?

So many things we could pack into a day or weekend gathering.

We had been made aware of this meeting and that kinda took the wind out of the sails. Through no fault of anyones.

At the very least it gives most of you a chance to attend a meet and one another.

Doubt a whole load of Vit's, Ti's and MGs would be welcome though!

We can but the only thing to consider may be that people can only make one long journey so it would be either one or the other.

Who's on for this then ?
PS - actual details on the meet would go along way to making folk from here feel that they are actually welcome to attend  Just had a quick peak at the site and couldn't find any details.

Hi all,

I have just seen this chit-chat about the Anniversary Bash for the R8's.

I posted up some details today here, I hadn't realised there was already some information up.

I've voted for a dyno day.

I've found a place in northampton, who can do a RR day for £35 if 10 or more people attend.

Cheers

Are we knocking this on the head for this year now? And using the R8 anniversary event as the 1 to attend?

I know it's early, but should we now be looking to next year?! There's been a lot of interest and good ideas so would be a shame to drop the idea all together. Don't know about others, but I'd prefer a meet in the summertime rather than in the winter months when it's cold and raining (I know British summertime doesn't entirely rule this out  ) I would of course still attend at anytime of year, just stating my preference :D But I can't see that being likely now for this year, not impossible, just unlikely!

I agree, if we can't come up with something this year, its better to keep the ball rolling. I could only commit to one meet a year anyway due to that damned boat fee and whatever else it will cost to stay over there.
