PPC in the Park 09
Saturday May 23 2009 Mallory Park
Practical Performance Car magazine
PPC in the Park is Europe’s most exciting new event for car enthusiasts. No other show combines non-stop live action on the track, some of the most amazing cars ever built on display in the paddock, and the chance to see PPC’s very own 27-litre V12 Rover and turbocharged Rolls Royce track-day car in action.
You can become part of the action by booking track time for you and your car at just £12.50 per session (booked in advance). You can also watch the PPC £999 Challenge contestants battling it out to become the 2009 champion in the fastest car you can build for less than £1000.
Slightly more expensive is the Dodge Dakota jet-powered truck which will be firing up its monster engine with afterburner. Then there’s PPC feature cars, the PPC team and their cars (including editor Will Holman’s 5-litre V8 Capri). And PPC’s technical guru, Dave Walker, will be holding a live Walker’s Workshop demonstration.
To top it all we’ll be having a few shandys in the evening with a marquee and bar from the Ace Cafe - so bring your tent because camping’s completely free. PPC in the Park is 2009’s must-attend event.
27-litre Rover SD1
PPC’s Rolls Royce turbo
PPC team and Staff Cars
PPC feature cars (incl Duel Control BMW)
All-day track action
PPC £999 Challenge
Lawn mower racing
Power tool drag racing
Jet powered truck
Auto testing
Burnouts from the N.A.S.C.
Auto jumble
Discount track time
Evening entertainment
Walker’s Workshop live
Tuning part trade stands
Rolling roads
Data logging seminar
Kit car rides.
Attractions include above list.
Advance ticket bookings are rewarded with a free limited edition PPC in the Park T-shirt, to collect on the day, and free car parking on the day.
Tickets £17 (under 16’s free)
Evening Entertainment £10
£999 Challenge £50 (including show entrance)
Track time per 15 mins £12.50 (booked in advance)
Camping FREE
Parking FREE (if tickets booked in advance, £1 on the day)

Re: PPC in the Park 09
Think I might have to go to this, falls nicely immediately after all my exams
Re: PPC in the Park 09
I've booked 3 track sessions plus plan to stay for the evening.
I've met the guys that run the mag (plus read the mag fairly regularly) and have to say it'll probably be a good laugh based on their usual trackdays/events.
They seem to be advertising on every forum on under the sun, though, adding the possiblity of the chav element being present.

Re: PPC in the Park 09
Who's going then? Dan?
Steve I'll be sure to come see you and your racer - very keen to see some of the race bits.
I'm going with a big group of mates all with different track cars - if anyone wants a track sess then let me know as we have loads between us and there's no way we'll use them all. Think we only paid £12.50 per sess for all of ours so we'll pass on for the same.

Sounds like a laugh, so count me in. Car's hardly a minter though so hide me at the back somewherecarl747 wrote:The Rover 200 & 400 owners club is having a club stand let us know if would like to be on it

No pics of any cars on the stand really...
Dan you have a smart looking camera - did you get any pics?
Have to say, it's the first time I've been up close to a cabriolet and although I think they look
(just IMO!) Nick's was super quick round the track and looked very composed on the high speed corners. Karl looked like he was having fun too.

Re: PPC in the Park 09
Sorry I didn't take many pics of the cars whilst they were on the stand. I got a little bit of video though somewhere I think when I download it. I guess I got distracted by the cars on the track!
