Rovertech meet

Post by mach1rob »

Not some local one, but a big one, for everyone to attend, perhaps somewhere in the middle of the country, perhaps a weekend event to make it worthwhile for those that may have a bit of distance to travel to attend.
Thoughts, worth looking into or not?

I'd be up for it, just as long as I don't choke everyone to death with diesel fumes from the Mondano. ;)

As we discussed on messenger, the RT community need reinvigorating. As the last few events have been rather dead.

I'm a member of another forum and every year there's a day trip to a rolling road in Bristol, followed by a good bit of driving and then to a pub for lunch.

It's always a huge success and easily attracts over 40 people each time.

are you talking this year ?

darker nights and colder/wetter days are going to be drawing in very soon.

Of course, I now have a car that works so i'll make it in the V8 :) even if it does cost me a fortune to get there and back, lol

Gaydon + Pub always seems a good meet location, just due to its central location, easy parking and time to look around the museum.

Big car park and they set spaces aside for free, plus discounted entry to museum, which in turn gives you a discount on the landrover ride which is always a laugh.

It was a comment about hoping for Gravy And Potatoes with the Meet and seeing if G could eat the meet with no Gnashers.

That's ok the hand blender here's pretty redundant now Harry's on solids can bring it for G so he can use a straw

Was thinking probably more next year, as G said nights are drawing in, so by time its all arranged be dark by 4, so spring next year be better (IMO) and gives chance to organise bits and pieces get things sorted :)
