Its done 51k genuine miles from new and is in outstanding condition throughout. I believe this coupe will be one of the best left out there. The car is totally original apart from the colour change on the alloys.
I MAY sell the car if the price is rite due to me and my partner moving into a bigger house soon and that has taken a very large amount of my savings. I know peoples opinions do vary and figures will probably be estimated at 1500-2000 but i certainly wont sell for that.
this car has to be seen to be fully appreciated. these cars are getting rarer as we know, and to find one in this condition is almost impossible.
all feedback appreciated but please be fair in your comments
yeah its a beautiful example. yeah its a shame these cars are worth so little. I wouldnt sell for £2000. Im just gauging peoples opinions. were not moving until july but buying a 225 grand house has certainly hit me hard financially.
well you have to ask yourself what you would be happy with getting for it and if its likely you will actually get it.
if you want £3k+ for it then id say keep it otherwise i can see it being up for sale for a long time and you will get numpties calling you offering <£1k

ok matey i understand what your saying. im not actually sure what I would be happy with. yeah not buying the house would have been the best solution but women have to have what they want and were planning a family this year so we need a bigger house. As i say i was just curious to what people think its worth. Its probably just worth keeping
i would keep it tbh, it looks mint and EVENTUALLY you would hope it would go up in value.
same with my 220, its worth a lot more to me than id actually get for it. Rather just disconnect the battery and leave it in the garage than sell it for what id get for it.

The car is mint throughout. Its every bit as good as it looks. it drives perfect. the engine is quiet. Maybe theres no such thing as a perfect rover coupe turbo but this is as close to perfect as anyone will get. its that good. yeah i know what your saying, this car is worth more to me than it is to someone else. eventually i would hope this car will go up in value. surely they will as theyre getting very rare.
thanks for the comments and feedback. yeah i will just keep it unless i receive an offer i cant refuse. looks like im gonna have to get the overtime in to rebuild my savings
Thing is what car you gonna buy instead? because if you buy a cheap bag of spanners runaround it may end up costing you in repairs then you may aswell keep the coupe, i reckon nobodys gonna want to pay more than 2.5k for it personally.
I have an everyday car on an 08 reg so wouldnt need to buy anything else. I will just keep the coupe. your probably rite, not many people would want to pay more than 2500. to me its worth more so i will just run it in the summer and keep it garaged in the winter
That will fetch good money to the right buyer. One sold just recently for £2500 and yours appears to be cleaner then that one. Coupe turbos are starting to go up in prices now.
Wanted - Indian bride. Cash waiting.
Wanted - OE Front jap plinth for 220 coupe.
damn - that's lovely example! keep it for sure. I would not let that go for any less than 2k. if you were to sell, best advertise somewhere where people are prepared to pay for it.
Soon the turbos will go up in value too.
Rover coupe Turbo currently getting rebuilt at Roverdose :
lovely example...if mine was written off or nicked I'd prob go £2k max on another, the reason I would buy another is I know them well & am happy working on them, a reason I wouldn't is that £2k these days buys a nice '03 Octavia VRS, which in all honesty, is a better car imo....better handling, better performing (with a remap), better build quality, safer & better on fuel.
But for someone well flush who specifically wants this model, & if you were in no hurry to sell, I'd go top of the expectation list, & put it up at £3,200 & see what happens.
Out of interest, has the gearbox been replaced or rebuilt? & has the head gasket been klingered?

sorry for late response. the gearbox hasnt been rebuilt or replaced. its perfect. as for the head gasket im not sure, however it doesnt have any overheating issues and hasnt got the usual oil weep around the right corner of the head. the car is truly outstanding.
I understand what your saying about a skoda vrs. yes i agree its probably a better car all round, but theres hundreds of them and its going to be a long time before they are classic. i personally love the look of the rover coupe and in my opinion theres very few cars that look better. excluding supercars.
Im going to hold onto the car for the time being as this model is getting rare and hard to find especially in this condition. I believe this will certainly be one of the best left. A local elderly gentleman who collects classic cars has made me a substantial offer for the car. Ive refused his offer.Im going to enjoy the car.

Agreed in full with everything...nice to hear you're keeping it, at least we can keep it on Rovertech that way

They will still fetch a decent price at that condition. I remember when Lou on here used to get top whack for some of hers.
I still think your dreaming at anything over £2.5k at the moment though. Another 10 years and you might see a rise but you'd have to keep it garaged and keep the mileage down to see the best price.
I'd bite that old chaps hand off if it truly was a genuine substantial offer. These cars (in my opinion) are never going to be valuable, or deemed as bona fide classics. Yes I believe one day they will be looked back on with misty eyed fondness, possibly even by the motoring press if for no other reason than they offered Cosworth matching performance for penny's.
I hope I'm wrong because I own one, but I don't think they will be. You'd be fool hardy not to seriously consider his offer. Yes your coupé may be the best out there, but to keep it that way would mean ideally keeping it off the streets over winter, and lavishing so much loving care over it for many moons on the off chance it will be valuable. For every mile your car covers and mark or blemish it picks up, it moves further away from being worth top dollar. The quickest way for cars to reach sky high values is via heritage and pedigree, followed by street credibility. Alas, the Rover coupé lacks these fundamentals. Which is a shame because they're really wicked cars, and very stylish.

You can't eBay this mate. I can imagine funds are tight at the moment, but what you will realistically get for it won't make much difference either way. you have clearly looked after this car, and everybody needs a toy in their life.
I did my 75 hg before failure just so i could be confident on long trips. Doesn't have to have blown first as its alot easier job without spending 3 hours on mayo cleanup.

Yes but the K series has a history of failure the T series doesnt it just tends to weep from the right hand corner so why change it.
