pulsar T28

Post by fridge85 »

Right fella's...

Pulsar T28, T25 actuator, fitted with gbe fitting kit (oil line, restrictor, and both inlet/outlet flanges) currently on my car so would be ready to bolt straight on

Good working order, boost well, I've never ran it above 10-11 psi

Now its only a maybe at the minute, as another cars come up for sale so I may strip the 220 gsi of a few worthy parts to free up some funds, and lock it away for a much needed long restoration and build it to a higher spec, whilst keeping the other car in question relatively standard

So what's it worth?

Cheers,
Wayne

Without pics approximate mileage, play in shaft, etc. It's not easy to say. £50-£300? £300 being a fresh reconditioned unit, £50 being an oil filled paperweight

Maybe a few years ago when they were common. Try looking for one now, they are rare. Their value for the T16 should be increasing as they are a good bolt on upgrade to around 330 with supporting mods. That is why I mentioned the condition as now realistically they should be more in the region of £350+ in top condition. Unless anyone else knows where there is a plentiful supply?

on the basis i can get a new( refurbed )unit with 12 month warranty for around £350 pound cash .

for my self i would never pay more than 150 for a second hand unit . as personally i wouldnt take the risk of fitting it on somes one say so it works fine .

i would send it off for at least a spin up and balance check . if not a quick refurb.

Where can you get a new/refurbished one for £350? I'll have one. I phoned turbo techniques and turbo dynamics and they wanted around £450 for a t25 refurb and £700ish for a hybrid

I'd guess at a unit not needing a new shaft or wheels. Just new bearing and a rebalance. If you can find a unit in that state Wilky I bet would turn it around posted for a similar if not cheaper price.

We all know though once a turbo has seen an active life it can be far more than a new shaft and bearings taking the price way over that of a new unit!

http://www.crturbos.co.uk . cash talks  i did buy 5 last time mind

if your willing to supply them with undamaged housings and have a couple of old usable t25s laying about it would be worth sending them in as well.

i have just sent in a couple of old t25s my self as per my rebuild thread . im awaiting them to give me a price on a t28/t3 hybrid
