Re: Stainless manifold flanges for T16 - for tubular manifol
looks like it, i gave it to someone a while ago, glad its of use.Cableguy wrote:Not sure Drew, if its yours i thank you !
Took a couple of pics , and overlaid a scan of a gasket on top of the drawing.
Theres naff all in it , so im going to stick with the original drawing ( if people want the holes a bit bigger it will take about half a second to reem the holes open further with a die grinder before welding anyway.
you can drill stainless, even though it will be harder (heat cycled) once lasered, just run the drill very slow and use lots of cutting fluid.

Re: Stainless manifold flanges for T16 - for tubular manifol
I've been trying to find a manifold to use for fitting to these flanges and came across a group buy that was going on Nov last year from Grant and for 5+ it was £135 +15 postage, has anyone allready got one for cutting up?if not should we see if we can get a similar deal on them?

Here's something - are those holes a little too close to the edges of the flange?

Re: Stainless manifold flanges for T16 - for tubular manifol
Seem fine to me , they are to drawing as per previous posts and drew has used the same clearances in the past.
Doesnt leave much gasket showing either.
Daz, there is unfortunately a slight warp of a couple of mm. The amount of heat that goes in to cutting them lifts them a little due to the amount of material we have taken away.
I had a word and this is unavoidable tbh , the solution is to get it skimmed after welding....
I can get it skimmed for you before despatch , but that means making it thinner , and then when you have welded it i suspect its going to warp again and you will need to skim it further so its entirely up to you
The warp at the moment is something that if your welding didnt make it any worse, would be taken out with the gasket and the pressure of the bolts clamping it.

Re: Stainless manifold flanges for T16 - for tubular manifol
Has anyone got their manifold built yet?i'm in the process of doing mine and have found the tracts to be quite abit smaller than the size of the flange, dont know if this will affect flow or not,any feedback would be great,
cheers.

Re: Stainless manifold flanges for T16 - for tubular manifol
Here's acouple of pics of mine so far,

The welding's abit dodgy, time to file and smooth it all don then reweld and smooth off, then get it skimmed and heat wrapped,it's going to be tight against the alternator, fingers crossed.

Re: Stainless manifold flanges for T16 - for tubular manifol
Tried manifold on car yesterday, fits head perfect, tracts clear step on head and alternator but bottom flange is a mile off turbo needs brought forward an inch and need to lengthen bottom part by an inch, abit gutted, thought the flange wouldnt be that far away,i'll get more pics up when i get time,on a plus note it looks good when it's on.

Re: Stainless manifold flanges for T16 - for tubular manifol
I can do another group buy of 5 if people are interested.
Daz had some reservations after receiving his that the flange didnt have enough meat around the bolt holes at the outsides and that the holes werent 100% bang on, if someone could comment and decide if they want any changes made and then start adding names i can sort it out
