Hello all

Just to give you all a heads up. All the items are with the forwarding company who will be informing me Tuesday (due to the bank holiday) with the delivery date which will be next week.

I'd like to say a big sorry for the hold up your radiators, if anyone has ever imported they will understand these no rushing these companies :crash: .

Sorry

I'm sure the guys are doing all they can to speed this up, but considering the time you knew you would have to wait, an extra week or so isn't going to kill you.

But it's not like it's one more week it is? We were told it was a 7 week lead-time from point of order, and we were told mid-May the order had been made. We were then told first or second week of August. We're now a couple of days away from September and being asked to wait further....

If I'd known in May when we asked to pay deposits that it was going to be a 3 month wait I wouldn't have paid-deposit and dropped-out and sorted a new OE rad. Some of us need the replacement rad, and deemed a 7 week wait from mid-May as an acceptable wait, instead of sourcing an alternative rad....

As mentioned above putting a time scale and a dead line on over seas orders can be extremely hard. As I said in my previous message I'd like to apologise for the delay, but some things are out of my control. :sorry:

I'll ask them an to put an extra outboard on there vessel next time

I understand that Rob, I am in the same boat myself in regards to needing a radiator and I would have liked it for this weekend ( I'm holding off fitting that FMIC I got from ya until I have the rad ), being the Bank holiday and all that. If it was a case of the items being in the UK and laziness holding them all up then I probably would be a wee bit annoyed, but it seems we are dependant on a slow boat. I'm sure Ian is doing everything he can though :)

Cheers for that mate.

I'd like to point out that all the items that I'm waiting for are off the boat and in fact in the UK , just waiting delivery from the forwarding company!

Just wanted to settle any confusion as to the where abouts of your radiators.

We're not talking weeks away, just a matter of days!

Thanks

If it is a matter of days (3 working days? Let's say end of the week to give plenty of leeway?) then I will hold-out.

Rob,
If you want your money back just say!
I've run many Group Buys now, many of which you have bought in to, and I always run a "tight ship".
This hasn't gone 100% to plan time-wise, for which I apologise.
I cannot guarantee it will be with you by the end of the week as this is beyond my control.
However, you have saved a lot of cash. Although that does not seem to be a priority?
I understand your frustration, but don't understand your aggressiveness.
It must be something to do with me as recently you have jumped on a lot of topics that I have made?
I'm sorry if I've done something to upset you.
Anyway, please say if you wish to withdraw. We will happily refund what you have already paid.

Grant, saving cash was not the priority - getting a decent ally rad in was. I have a Radtec in my hatch and not 100% impressed with the fabrication and welding on that. When I saw your GB I though great because we can expect a decent product. On top of this you quoted comparable lead-times to going the one-off route and the pics of the sample part looked fab.

However I can't help feeling you've sold us short. You and Ian state that we should know how tricky it is dealing with (I assume) imported parts, so why didn't you tell us this at the start? I'm annoyed as we're 3.5 months since this started and you still can't give me a firm date!

I have been a part of GBE GB's before, hence why I was happy to join-up straight-away with this, but I feel totally let-down compared to your previously high standards. It's not a case of wanting-out as that's not going to get me the top-quality ally rad any quicker (unless we're talking another 8 weeks here - which is the lead-time for AlliSport to make and supply one)?

Thanks,
Rob

I can assure you it isn't 8 weeks.
The items are in the UK and are in customs.
We *should* have them later this week and they will go out the same day we receive them.
I cannot guarantee they will be with you by next weekend, and won't be held to ransom by this.
As such, you are welcome to a refund.
I - personally - paid out IN FULL for 20 radiators before any of you guys paid your deposits. This puts me in a much more fragile position than any individual here.
Despite this, I'd rather just give you your money back as I have a feeling it is going to be difficult to please you.
Neither Ian or myself have ever set out to sell you short. I take offence at that comment.
If you'd like to take this to PM and sort out any personal differences this way now I would be grateful.
I would ask that moderators now lock this topic as it is just getting out of hand.

Grant you are still a mod as far as I'm concerned, so feel free to lock the topic at your judgement. I'm equally happy for it to stay open for further questions.

Rob, I think we all known group buys don't always go to plan for a variety of reasons some outside our control - Grant's reputation for supplying quality parts to RTers is second to none. The delay is very unfortunate I would agree, but on the other hand the saving is quite considerable.

Grant has offered to resolve the situation via PM, I think that would be the best course of action for everybody involved.

For everybody else, fingers crossed they get through customs soon, I'm sure grant/ian will keep us updated.

Ian, if you intend to run any more group buys, please get in touch.

Grant (& Jon),

Why do we need to take this to PM? Seriously there's no personal issues here and surely there's only one resolution and that is Grant supplies the radiators we've been promised all summer? Other people have a vested interest in this resolution too so I can't see how talking about this further on PM only is going to help....

I'm not suggesting a ransom, I just don't understand how you can't tell me a date? From the tone and comments of your posts Grant I can't help now thinking the quality of the component you're about to supply is not going to be high. As you seem to be encouraging me to get out now whilst I can?
