Re: 220 Turbo Alloy radiators
with what must be twice the effeicancy of the oe item, would running it with the intercooler pressed up tight allow to run without fans as long as you kept good airflow?
i dont fancy doing it, but it just had me thinking

Fans are for when you don't have airflow - i.e. sat in traffic. So yes you will still need them.jase wrote:allow to run without fans as long as you kept good airflow?

Mine came today - haven't had time to open it but packaging doesn't have any marks on it so a good sign it's not been bashed in transit. Looks to have been well packed

Re: 220 Turbo Alloy radiators
I had a look at mine this morning and am well happy with it. Thanks to Grant & Ian
Re: 220 Turbo Alloy radiators
Ill keep a fan for that reason, but im wondering what effect having an intercooler 2-3inches infront of the rad has. Im pretty sure underconstant load fans are required even when running at speed with this sort of setup? But then its the fans keeping the intercooler that far away! (unless fitted behind of course)Fans are for when you don't have airflow
Sorry, its off topic but im trying to understand the airflow/cooling and how placing different components can effect it.
Might fit my rad at the weekend being the weather is good. Anyone else got theres fitted yet?

Re: 220 Turbo Alloy radiators
Rad is all fitted - here is a couple of pics.

I had to trim the rad frame as highlighted in the pics on the previous thread - kissed it with the angle grinder, job was a good'un!
Also had to open up the rad support bracket that loops over the top pipe - bit trial and error, but nothing too taxing!:

Was all worth it - rad in place

Re: 220 Turbo Alloy radiators
Anyone had any problems with their rads??
I have just noticed some pink antifreeze on my rad!!! And the only way it could have got there is if the rad is leaking...
Has anyone else has this problem?? just take a look at all your fins please....
Thanks
