Hi Jon, cheers for getting this gb underway again, its appreciated

Plz can you change my order to clear coating (not red)? My wife always says I'm indecisive but I can't make up my mind if she's right.

As far as I can tell all Rover 200s from 90 onwards are the same. So I'm pretty confident it will be fine for the M series

No probs, added to the list.

No probs, but are you sure you don't want them in carbon? or a nice set in gold? :P

Worry not, for I braved near-freezing temperatures and having to work upside down whilst tackling seized fixings and have obtained a set of 800 hoses.

One is indeed attached by to the hard pipe by a metal block, I have no idea why. I hope it won't be an obstacle to replication?

What should I do with them? Polite suggestions only, please ;)

No problem Tim, Ant now has all the details so as soon as the supplier gets the old lines and can replicate them we should be away. Will keep you posted, and welcome to the Forum by the way

I've already got a set of stainless brake lines fitted to my car but i would really like a set of the fittings if possible, 4 stainless nipples for the front(brembodge) and 2 for the back also 2 unions for the rear.

Thanks
Lee.

Lee, do you mean the banjo bolts? If so do you need them for the front as well? Or just union nuts for the hard line?

Lee, I'm being quoted £2.50 per bolt with a pair of washers, I don't know how much to post these but I can't see it being more than a quid or so.

If anybody else wants any, please let me know.

Re the 800 Lines, I'm told we are good to go and there will be no problem replicating these from the ones Punx0r has supplied.

So anybody wanting an 800 set please confirm your order.

As a side note, I have been asked about getting a custom set of lines made up to suit the brembodge setup. Using straight line connectors that screw into the calliper rather than banjo bolts clamping against the face. If you have a brembodge kit and are having any issues using the Rover Banjo configuration then these will be the solution.

They have confirmed they can do these custom kits at the same price as the group buy kits. If you are interested in this please PM me to enquire.

I think that covers the lot, I'll be looking to close the group buy fairly swiftly as I'm desperate for a set of hoses myself - so if we can get a final list of names together then we can get the ball rolling.

Current list stands as:

As per the PMs, I'll take my custom Brembodge kit, and a standard rear set + a pair of bleed nipples.

Just to clarify for those wondering about the Brembodge option, basically due to a poor casting on my nearside caliper, the banjo weeps brake fluid on my setup; even after attempting to dress the banjo mating face. As a result the Rover banjo connector will be substituted for the equivalent Pug -> Brembo caliper fitting as found on the 406 coupe.

Updated,

Right chaps, if anybody else want a set please get your name down quick, I'm now looking at closing this before the end of the week so I can get the order in with the supplier before the weekend.

Anybody with their name on the list may want to start thinking about getting the money into their paypal account. I think unless anybody drops out we should be good to hit the 15+ discount now. Don't forget to allow extra for any additional hardware you require.

I will start PMing reminders to everybody tomorrow with payment details and to confirm your individual total.

Thanks guys.

Will the lines come with the copper washers and new banjo bolts for all 4 calipers? If not then can i have a set of s/s banjo bolts added to my list please? I'm planning on getting Big red to re-condition all my calipers the rear std ones and the secondhand Pug 406 Brembo fronts. I don't know if they include new washers and banjo bolts in their re-furb work, so i'll drop them a line and find out asap.

All the line kits come with stainless banjo bolts and copper washers to suit as standard.

The extra banjos are only there for people that have old Goodridge kits and such that don't come with the stainless banjos, or for people who want them for some other reason. In which case the price stated is per extra banjo and pair of copper washers.

Your brembodge kit should also include a stainless banjo IIRC to suit the pug calliper. However it is important to note that the brembodge were not designed to use a banjo fitting, and do not have a suitable flat machined to seal against the banjo. Instead they take a screw in male fitting.

However Rob tells me that in the majority of cases the casting is smooth enough for a banjo to work just fine, but some castings may not seal in which case if you are having this problem you should consider using the custom brembodge hose kit above which Mr Pinney is kindly (and probably as we speak) measuring up

In short if you don't have the issue don't worry, but if you have a problem or you are buying the braided kit to suit your brembodge setup you may want to get the custom kit to suit. I will ensure brembodge kit will include two banjos for those with rear disc sets.

i wasn't going to go for this as money is tight to get the T series in what will all the bits i've bought however harkins pointed out the brembodge issue which i was unaware of

so i'll go for a set of front hoses for the brembodge kit, they seem to be an absolute must if your fitting brembo calipers, i wouldnt risk the rover hoses not fitting!

how much?

in red please

EDIT: clear red looks brighter so ill have that if its the case :)

Hi Adam,

I'm not going to say they are a must as I have no experience of them. I've spoken to Rob (ttrw2) who put the brembodge kit together and he has said that he has not had any problems. However Tom has requested these, and although I am unfamiliar with the kit myself, having looked at how the original hoses work I can see how there could be an issue and it seems a good idea to use the right ends - so for people buying kits especially for their brembodge setup it would make sense to go for a custom line kit with the correct Peugeot fitting on the end rather than try and use the Rover one, especially as its the same price either way.

If money is tight you could try the Rover ones, but if you want a two line kit would be under 30 quid.

I'm sure the rover lines are fine for most people but im not taking any chances and although money is tight it's not that tight and tires and breaks are the place to spend money on any car otherwise big power = big accidents! lol :drive:

i was planning on braided hoses anyway and goodridge couldnt do the pug ends (im assuming) custom like these

let me know how much, i'll pay pal the money right away :)

If you can stretch to it, and don't already have the rears you may as well go for a full kit, it will be cheaper in the long run, especially now we have the maximum discount. I need to confirm the part line kit prices with them when we actually order, but last time I checked it was about 28/29/30 quid depending on fittings. Goodridge should be able to replicate them as well tbh, but it will again be a custom kit and I don't think you will get it as cheap tbh.

Didn't think goodridge did custom ones? i suppose i'd just be asking for a different caliper fitting but as i dont really know anything about breaks i couldn't ask for what i wanted lol

as for the rears, i'm not 100% sure what im doing with the rears yet thats all... i may go for the basic option and put ZS rears on, but im talking to a friend whos sponsored by Hisec about some rear 2pots... not sure i want to risk wasting 30 quid if i can't re-use them

All the four line kits are the same price, £54 inc delivery. All the two line kits will be roughly the same price, although they are technically part kits - they work out at under £30 inc delivery depending on if you want extra bits with them.

If you are unsure on the rear lines then you can always get them at a later date, but you would end up paying more for them that way. Have a think and let me know what you need.

Jim, what fittings do you need - the hoses already come with all the various banjos and washers to fit the calliper, but I can also get you stainless bleed nipples for the callipers and brass unions for the metal pipe if you are replacing that too.
