Re bleed them and the pedal feels the same but i like it like this. Its not spongy but not to sharp. Done a few high speed braking tests  and they are awesome. Its like hitting a concrete wall lol. Even after those tests and a spirited drive i could touch the calipers and they where just warm. Well happy :D

Uptake was slower than expected on this one, so unless something dramatic changes we foresee no further GB's at this time. We have a kit in stock though if you'd like, please contact Rob.

I can confirm that these don't fit with Streetwise wheels - even running a set of Mitus' spacers. I'll get a pic when it stops lashing it down!

Gutted 'cos they look so good whilst bolting them all up, but it's going to be back to the drawing board as to what to do now as I don't really want any different wheels right now!

That's a shame :(

Must be close though as the streetwise will be ET45, so with a 6mm Mitus spacer effectively ET39. Most ET38 wheels we've seen have fitted.

My ET40s fit too but are tight as. Streetwise must have a funny spoke shape. :(

James, if you get a feel for it with washers padding the wheel out, you could potentially grind the caliper a little.

The Streetwise's are indeed ET45, but as Si said, it appears that it is the spoke shape that stops them from fitting.

I'll stick some pictures up later, it would also be necessary to fit longer studs as you can only get about 2.5 turns before they go tight by hand - with the spacers.

Fitted mine during the week, they are a great bit of kit. I ended up using 3 shims on the discs and 2+1 thinner washer between the bracket and caliper. Got loads of clearence between caliper and alloy :)

Thanks for that, v useful.

We have a kit using a slightly smaller version of the 326mm disc (318mm IIRC) that will fit. It's designed primarily to fit behind a Hairpin and BRM wheel. Haven't really progressed it as there doesn't seem to be that much interest?

Would work with Pug and Renaultsport Brembo calipers too.

Pics as promised, this was just everything nipped up:

Before:

Image

And what should have been the after:

Image

Some close-ups:

Image

Image

I didn't move the wheel as I couldn't quite be sure if it was touching - and the painting took a long time!!

If it's not touching, it's far too close to be safe, and as previously mentioned, that's with Mitus' spacers.

Massive shame as I really like these wheels on my car, so it's a toss up between brakes or wheels - I don't really want to grind any metal off the calipers tbh.

This picture kinda shows how little stud was left visible - only enough to get a couple of turns at most.

Image

No idea why the Streetwise wheels differ so much from other Rover alloys, but hey ho!

Super-fat spokes! I guess with the Streetwise supposedly being an urban off-roader, they chunked it up somewhat...

Indeed. How dare they not consider the poor soul in the future who fits these wheels to his Coupe; subsequently wanting to fit an enormous brake kit behind it....

The cheek of it!

I think you might be missing the point :? have you fitted longer studs to your hubs :?

If you havnt you can fit them, the fit another spacer 2-3mm thick and clear your wheels purfectly, too make sure you have know problems.

Aah, gotya! I thought you meant fitting longer studs as is to cure it!

The prob is that I think a bigger spacer might mean that I'm risking catching the tyres on the arches, so they would probs need to be rolled... and that's even if that would be enough. They are a big offset and big spokes; that plus big brakes is a bad combination!!

James, you'd only need to add a 1mm shim which rob and I could help you with. If you secure the longer studs you may be able to have your cake and eat it. I promise you the performance is worth it. :) Edit: If you play tunes with the thin washers we supplied you might be able to mount the caliper an extra MM back, i can't remember what the disc bridge measures at but i know you can play tunes with it.

I have a picture at home of my spoke to caliper clearance - it's not much more than you have and mine survived a roasting hot june trackday at Bedford GT (lots of 100+ braking) with no contacting.

I did think about this, but in the pic the caliper is already spaced slightly inwards - so much so that the caliper to disk clearance is about as close as I'd like to chance on that side. Also, as the wheel was only done up hand tight, I suspect that the proper torque applied would lead to even less clearance. The only solution without modifying the calipers / brackets / mounting lugs would be larger spacers and long wheel studs, but I worry about my arches! I'd imagine I'd need at least 2 - 3 mm more than the 6mm I already have.

I do plan on still fitting them, but it might mean I have to bite the bullet and find a different, but similar set of wheels with a lower offset.

James, what size spacers are you running?

My alloys on my coupe have an ET35 offset and I have no isses with the arches on mine (front or rear), so you have at least 10mm to play with before arch fowling becomes an issue if the Streetwise alloys are ET45 offset and you are determined to fit them. I'm assuming here that you're going to have to fit longer studs, which is simple enough to do.

IIRC Rob and I tried a ZS180 wheel with a 5mm spacer and it cleared. Streetwise alloy spoke must be well fat!

PeteT16 is running his OE 180 wheels i think.

Running 6mm at the mo, so would have thought 8 or 9 would be alright.

I guess the wheel takes a path that means the top of the tyre comes in towards the car as the spring compresses - hence why there is more clearance between arch lip and tyre then it appears whilst the car is sitting on the ground?

just noticed this, how would they compare to the 326mm disc setup braking wise? id be interested in a set for the coupe, looked at your original kits but didnt fancy risking having to get rid of the rotas!

4mm either side of the disc , i doubt you would notice the difference. Infact being D16 you will probably stop faster than a T16 engined car with the 326 setup.

Won´t try them now as I don´t have the calipers yet (impossible to find in Portugal :x ) among others, but I believe the discs and the kit is OK. I´ll finish it later in the year - this is for my [parked] 2nd Coupé so I have time! Just bought it because I didn´t want to miss this GB! Thanks for doing this! I really appreciate it!

I just have one question: I´m planning to install this wheels in my car: Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 [4X100 7J X 17" ET38] with 205-40-17 tyres. Do you think it is safe (in clearance)? :?
Image

When finished, it should look something like this (not sure about the roof and wrong discs in the picture of course! )
