Yep, we can't wait any longer. I've been invoiced for the parts and at midday I'm placing the order for the discs (longest lead-time).

For the record, and in order to maintain transparency, Martin (Pasty/CoupeTurbo) has had several PM's and texts from Simon, to which at least one he replied to, thus acknowledging he'd received it.

His deposit will be forfeited from the Group Buy and not returned as this were the original terms stated from day one (the deposits were used to buy some of the sundrie items that take a while to procure - bolts come from Fabory in Holland for example).

Instead the deposit can be used to offset the price of a one-off kit later in the year when we start offering these (after this GB is all sorted).

I hope this is clear, transparent and fair.

Just quick question. How easy are the discs to get hold of once they get worn out. Obviously there not standard disc. Also is there space for one more due to this bloke tossing about

Yep perfectly available; when the GB's are done and dusted we'll supply a part number/details of how to order a pair.

I placed the order for 8 pairs of discs at 1201hrs today - we had no response from Martin despite sending him texts this morning. So at the mo there's not a spare place on the GB. Sorry!

Hi guys.

As an update for you guys..

- Banjos have arrived and are with Rob.
- Brackets are with the powder coaters as of today
- Discs are on course for next week
- Fasteners are on order, also due end of next week

At the moment it's all looking like we can ship the kits for the end of the month as suggested. Watch this space

As an aside, does anyone here know of anyone who is attending the Portugal Coupe gathering who would be able to take ourafilmes' kit across for him?

In other news, brackets are back form the powdercoaters, discs are at my house, banjos are with Rob and we're just waiting on the fasteners. Sadly, the supplier had a mix-up issue which means they've had to go back and we're waiting on replacements. They're almost ready to go out guys, bear with us as we're 90% there.

I picked up some AP MG TF calipers the other day. So i compared them to the Brembos. Ive put this in here as it may be some interest to people others may already know.

They both weight the same.
The Brembos have much larger pistons.
The mounting lugs are identical in spacing but the AP ones are threaded.

The big difference is the offset as you can see below.





The clean one are Brembos. Ive still got to fit stickers and lacquer so will have to get my skates on.

Thanks, that's an interesting comparison....

The mounting-lug offset and height is what means we can get away with no hub mods and a relatively simple adaptor bracket with the Brembos, whereas the AP's require hub mods.

We plan to post the kits out Monday, UPS Standard Insured, which is next day. Keep your eyes peeled on Tuesday!

biker18yr has fitted them to an R8 200, there's a ZR done by AA autosports with them and of course, my own conversion on the ZS.

Whilst we're on the topic of comparing calipers, I did recently get to look at a Brembo from the JCW Mini and measured the mounting lug centres. I can't remember what it was But it was either 120mm or 130mm, both of which are too close to the Rover 139.7mm to make them workable. I didn't think to measure the pistons but as Delboy would say "it's epidemic now Rodney"

OK update guys. Kit bits are in one place ready to go. Courier will collect Tuesday as the UPS service requires me to print-out an address sheet (with barcode) that unhandily they only send out in normal office hours

So I shall get these printed tmw for collection Tuesday.

I will keep all updated and provide tracking numbers individually via PM. I'll send you a link to the fitting instructions via PM too.

The more I think about it, the more I think they were 130mm, same as some Focus RS Brembos I bought ages ago to attempt a similar conversion.

Won't be fitting for a while as my rear caliper has packed in so need to source one of them now!

Received my kit yesturday. But ive come to fit them today and the brackets dont fit. They are touching the disc. Could somebody send me a contact number please as it will be easier to explain by voice thanks.

Did you order for wedge or bubble ? ( you should have ordered for bubble as your car has mk3 hubs )

2 mm spacers required unless rob can swap them for you

EDIT just checked, you got what you ordered but i admit its probably confusing being a VVC you have a 2mm bigger offset.

I thought all the kits are the same but you got shimes for the diffrent cars. But its not the the caliper is in a diffrent place, its that the bracket is hitting the base of the disc like its to long to fit.

Fairly sure they made two in the end as i hear rob mentioning machining one for someone else for this very reason.

There is a different bracket for the 25/ZR as it accounts for the offset difference.

Yeah I've spoken to Matt and we supplied the R8 bracket. R3 bracket is required for his car. Fortunately the R8 bracket can be machined to be an R3 bracket so we have a workable solution.

Got the bracket re machined by my local machine shop. They took 2mm off and now clears fine. Brakes are on just beading pads in now so all good. Was just a mix up with my coupe, as the hubs are the same as a ZR hub. Thanks Rob for giving me a ring and Cable guy for spotting the mix up

They need more bleeding then Matt. Pedal should have instant bite and be shorter than a 282 set-up.
