cost a frigging fortune i imagine.

i think the AAautosport modified S14 manifolds to fit T16's are almost £400 and they make hardly any profit. Look incredible though.

upper coolant pipe needs re-making to clear over the manifold - thats it... apart from making the manifold of course.

On a side note, this is the drawing that was going to be used , which i think is the one used previously..

Dan, I've assumed you know what you are doing and that these flanges will be a perfect fit :P

I have seen some where the the flange has a slice in it to aid with heat expansion. Any thoughts on this if it is necessary?

I forgot to ask if the ports are opened out to the manifold gasket or are they the same size as the original manifold?

Re: Stainless manifold flanges for T16 - for tubular manifol

They are both a perfect fit, its just the outside of the flange that differs, the above one is just slightly simplified ( i didn draw it )

Basically whatever you prefer, i have only seen the heat expansion gaps in OE manifolds though.

Again i can do the size of the gasket if thats prefered, the world is your oyester.

Current plan is keep bolt holes centers as they are and overlay the outside shape and port sizes on to this to give the best of both worlds.

Only other option then is if you want the expansion gaps, let me know and i can place :)

if you widen the holes the sx manifold tubes maybe too small and might fall through them? i would leave them standard size and i wouldnt want any cuts either imo

sx manifold tubes are already smaller in diameter than t16 :?

If it was me doing it, i would rather they went inside tbh , far easier to weld.

yeh but if the sx tubes are already smaller than the t16 holes wont it be making it worse?

I dunno , but i could do with a joint decision

I will measure the difference tommorow with the manifold and gasket, there might be naff all in it actually.

i think i drew it?

pipes would be better going through the flange and being welded in the middle of the port (like 5mm either side of the welded tube on a 10mm plate) that will help the distortion when welding. if you weld to the front or rear then the heat/weld will pull the flange when cooling.

Not sure Drew, if its yours i thank you !

Took a couple of pics , and overlaid a scan of a gasket on top of the drawing.

Theres naff all in it , so im going to stick with the original drawing ( if people want the holes a bit bigger it will take about half a second to reem the holes open further with a die grinder before welding anyway.

I will however rad all the edges off a bit more like the gasket , but keep the meat top and bottom as theres no reason to lose it and will give it more girth for welding.
