Re: T16 engine stuff
well you asked. sorry for impeding minor hijack.
before i found rovertech or rover coupe.net .......
about 4/5 years ago. my involvment with motobuild when based in hounslow/hanworth.
car booked in for running issue. poor response low vacuum readings.
not fixed. suggested head rebuild.
car booked in for head rebuild.
gearbox failed while motobuild had it.
very expensive open diff ti box fitted. £375 iirc
picked up car. running poorly, unplugging cam sensor lets car run properly.
3 weeks pass inc. a couple trips back to motobuild.
engine fails, 'new' cambelt snapped due to poor workmanship.
motobuild hanworth/hounslow closes.
bodged repair by motobuild's nominee results in two trips back leaking water and total engine failure within 300 miles use. again due to poor workmanship.
btw the nominated garage who were rude and aggressive over the phone managed to break the rover alarm and damage the clifford immob. less aggressive once a 6'4" annoyed lump came to pick his car up. told them exactly what i thought of them removed my car. if i had any spare cash at the time i would have sued them too. obviously paid them £0.
car gets put in to storage for a bit. daryll gets put on logger list.
thats about it.

Re: T16 engine stuff
o i see sorry to here that .ive never tacken work there just got parts from him so cant say anything on that side .thanks for the info .i take it the others had problems like this to .
Re: T16 engine stuff
plenty of people had problems, whats done is done i do not have any ill will towards him anymore.
i am willing to offer the guy knows a fair bit about cars he may have been let down by staff ect if your ordering parts you'll probably be alright
but fact remains i was out of pocket and no coupe for about 6 months until i replaced the engine for that reason i will not use motobuild.
after fixing the car it has been trouble free over the last 4 ish years since i worked on the car myself.
except the type a diff recently failed in the 2nd hand k7 gearbox i got to replace the open diff ti box motorbodge sold me.
that was luck of the draw the diff bearing journal sheared off!!
i sourced all the replacement parts through rovertech.net.
