6mm Hubcentric wheel spacers

Post by Mitus »

Having a small batch of these made up, full details/pics can be found here

PeteT16 PM's me saying he'd like a pair, so thought I'd get 10 made up (so 5 pairs) to see if it would work out cheaper :)

Don't have them yet, probably a week or so and don't know price either. Budget £30 plus P&P, it shouldn't be any more than this and I won't be making any money on them, just being my usual helpful self :D

So if you're interested, put your names down on this thread. One pair is obviously for Pete, so 4 pairs up for grabs. I will leave it to the individual to decide whether they need longer wheel studs, really depends on your wheels.

Suit 200/25/ZR/400/45/ZS front or rear, if there is enough interest I can of course have more made.

Cheers
Andy

Edit: They're actually 6mm thick, title amended to suit.

Just to update this, I had a phone call today to say they woud cost £12.50 per spacer so £25 a pair. I will be charging £30 posted per pair. Rob (ttrw2) got in touch with me regarding his group buy on Brembo brake kits and that some people might need these spacers for their wheels.

Still only one pair confirmed to go to PeteT16 so 4 pairs up for grabs still. Can always get more made but would be easier to do in batches of 10 plus to keep costs down.

Cheers

Nice one Andy 8)

Yes they'll be fine with zs 11 spokes.

Slightly ot, but I'm sourcing some lengthened civic wheel studs as they appear to be a straight swap with MG Rover items, I'll update after I've had a chance to trial fit one to a MGR hub.

Roll-up, roll-up Brembo guys. Mitus' spacers look extremely good quality to me and that price is unbelievable IMO! - No point in me sourcing any for the GB as these'll do the job nicely!

6mm hubcentric?

How does that work? I've always been led to beleive its nigh impossible to make hubcentrics less than about 10-12mm...

(not trying to cause trouble, just interested :) )

Any pics?

that would explain it. bmw ones stick out about 10mm.

cheers chaps.

They look very well made, what sort of price would you be looking at for a one off set of 12mm spacers that go from one bore size to a different bore size?

Munky - Give me some dimensions and I'll see what I can do!

Pete, Nathan & Vinny, hopefully I'll pick them up today - will keep you posted. Can take Paypal but would prefer bank transfer, will PM you all payment details when I have the spacers in my hands!

I wont need them til mid april ish when I get another 5 series.

The idea would be to take the offset and bore size of an e39 bmw 5 series to that of an e36/e46 3 series as there are a much wider choice of alloys available for them.

I'll have a hunt around on google and see if I can find any facts and figures. If not, I'll get back to you in april :D

Jump aboard! One pair left then, still don't have them yet which is slightly annoying as I go on holiday next week and want to get this sorted asap. Hopefully they'll call tomorrow with news, though I guess you're all waiting on the Brembo GB completing first anyway?

Yeah, I'm in no hurry for them as it's too cold and damp to be tinkering about with cars right now anyway, but I don't want to miss the boat as it were.

How do I go about payment? :D

OK as promised, I've looked at Honda extended studs, and while the dimensions are spot on the spline is too coarse, however all is not lost Rover 100 studs part number FAM8419 are perfect, they come up 10mm longer than standard studs, so will be ideal for anyone running spacers and wanting to retain the same thread penetration as standard.

Good work Pete, want to sell the eight you don't need?!

Carl you're a bit late for 2 pairs as there is only 1 pair not spoken for, is it critical to have them on the back too?

And finally, I still haven't heard from the machinists, I will either call them or visit them Monday and see what's what, but it's highly unlikely I'll be able to do anything until I'm back from holiday (19th feb). Hope this is ok with everyone, I haven't been on holiday in years, and when I do, it's at the wrong time!!
