I'd been inclined to call BS too. If it were true, that is one women who should not only loose her licsense, but be sectioned under the mental health act!

if these are actually true then some people need to have their licence revoked.

wont be long before someone runs over a HUMAN and carries on driving with them wedged under the car.

In 1984 my Mother was on the freeway behind a truck when a mattress fell off the back of the truck. She couldn’t avoid it and drove over it. It got caught in the rear axle of her 1978 Pinto. She pulled over and got out. As she was looking the car over, the catalytic converter apparently lit the mattress on fire. The car burned to the ground, and without being hit from behind!

thats the last comment on the matress 1, that must of been a rare 78 pinto with a cat on  only america

Could be possible. (But could still be BS)

My sisters car sits around all week, only ever moves ONCE a week. Its a waste of money, time and space on the drive way. It would be cheaper for her to get a Taxi. But, her choice, but anyway. One week, it rained, the next, sun, next rain. You get the idea. One of the rear drums rusted on and wouldnt un-stick. Most people might notice a wheel that isnt turning. Car really struggling whilst trying to pull away and a loud screaching sound of rubber... Bearing in mind she has to shunt it out of the corner, But dosnt stop there.

She shunted it out of the drive way with this wheel locked on, out the drive, down the road, a good 500 yards down the road before pulling over becase of a funny smell and people flashing from behind.

This afternoon I passed a woman in a car on the M1 who was driving along whilst attaching a satnav to the windscreen - directly, bang square right in front of her face.

Did a little search as I knew cats were introduced a good decade before the uk in the states.. Turns out the first installations were in 1975!

GF's mate drove home from the pub with a seized handbrake, both back wheels locked up for 5/6 miles. Wondered why the back end felt twitchy :dunce:

I have to side with you i think, although i have seen an old lady literally driving down the road in her Renault CLio on the limiter, id say for a good half mile.

Also seen an old lady driving along with the flattest of flat tiyres, seemingly unoticed and unphased.

Probably an automatic, she's probab'y deaf and doesn't have a clue what's going on anyway. They drive so slowly they'd probably never realise the effect on handling.

someone came into our college once to have there brake discs and pads changed and wondered why it was making a weird noise, They were vented discs that had been worn all the way down to the vents and the pad had disintegrated and worn down all the way to the piston! if only i would of took pics

Do Volvos not have brake disks or lower balljoints with arms?

The remaining height of the wheel could feasibly (just) clear the brakes and suspension.
