Only saw this thread now, mentioned in another thread how 'twas very unfortunated for Mr Green in goal, wonder will James be take over for the next two. Tough call for the manager. The horns are awful.

I've backed Spain to win it and a Brazil / Spain final.

I would rather have James over Green but IMO he should keep Green for the next game, otherwise he can't call on him again.

Hart doesn't make errors like James/Green do but he doesn't have the technical ability of either of them. Consistent - yes. Class on his day - no.

why are you ashamed of your homeland?

You have a passport and are aware that there are other countries, so you cant be southern... you dont seem like a pretentious hippy f*ck, so you;re not west coast, you are somewhat over aggressive, but not enough to be east coast...

Idaho? Ohio? Wisconsin eh?

So... why the shame?

Today I saw a golf, driven by the least spanish looking man in the universe, driving into my council estate.

A 50 acre piece of land, with approx 200 acres of england flags draped over it and an average iq of 3...

His car had not one, not even two, but FIVE spanish flags hanging off it.

That man is my f*cking world cup hero.

You are a fad following shallow sell-out hypocrit. So actually... maybe west coast is an option...

ps, the reason we will be gone by the end of the group stage is this and this alone -

we have no world cup song this time.

That song is the reason we did so well in 1990... oh, what, we didnt? sh*t...

did we do well with three lions?

1990 was best England side I've seen in my lifetime...should have been Italy v England final ... sadly both teams were robbed.
But that's football for ya :D

They came 4th in the tournament after being robbed in the semi finals and then getting beaten by Italy for the consolation places..not exactly a crap result so yeah the song helped.

I actually watched it, hoping for a high-scoring game. But just saw England humiliated by a country that doesn't even play football.

The US keeper was very impressive, their goal may have been a bit of a fluke but they made several good attempts throughout the game. The terrorist looking guy with the beard also seemed to be doing rather well.

England's performance was interspersed with the dissapointingly usual crying after being tapped. I understand they make a scene to get the ref's attention but why still ham it up after a card has been given?

They're not hurt. Getting kicked in the leg doesn't cause someone to clutch their face and roll back and forth on their back for 60 seconds and then suddenly spring up and run about as though nothing happened.

Bunch of fannies. That and a general lack of sportsmanship is what spoils football for me.

Yes, a slow and disappointing start to the World Cup with the matches so far. I really enjoy watching the beautiful game when teams play well and I strongly suspect later games will be much better to watch as teams settle and get used to the SA environment.

I wonder if the national team of 'also rans' [ no names no pack drill ] will improve .... probably thinking about the colour of their next Ferrari, Porsche.... etc., the over rewarded pansies........ and when those players with the Beckham and Rooney mindsets pull strokes and rightly get red carded feel unjustly treated ~ Red cards which they would not get for the same strokes pulled at Old Traffic and elsewhere.. they need to quickly learn that. The World Cup is a whole different kettle of ballgames... quickly adjust or bust Engerland ... ;)

Still, I shall enjoy watching the exploits of two non-also ran World Champions at the Kick Off at 5pm UK time in North America. Safe racing Lewis and Jenson.... Lewis played a blinder in Q3 ....Really looking forward to Canada GP. Jenson is 12-1 1/5th each way with bet365 so I've had a few quid each way on him. Lewis looks a no brainer on pole but, at a skinny 5-4 or 11-10, no attraction in that.

Back on Football Topic.... Above all I have been disappointed by both ITV and BBC TV Football Pundits.. Stating the bleedin' obvious they are really excelling at.... and yes, we all know, every Goal is a defensive error, even a successful penalty. They have lost the ability to correctly read the play ~ even after the event apparently now.... that is assuming they ever had it .... TV Football pundits .... Money for old rope me thinks...

Currentky watching SRB v. GHA on ITV ... two minutes into the game the initial signs are very promising for a better game...

....
Apparently ... in a parallel universe MGJohn drives ....wait for it..... A ..

tbh you all missed my point.. have none of you noticed how much those stupid horns are ruining the world cup?.. it drowns out all the atmosphere... all the "oooooosss" and general croud noises which make the game enjoyable to watch.

and this is how it should be
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sh3giLQ3zm0

all the players have been complaining about them.... imagine how off putting it would be to do your job.. say for example working in a office trying to type a letter on a computer with 100+db of constant drone in your ears?

anyway enough monaning tbh.. im looking forward to seeing north korea v brazill, one of the biggest mishmatches ive ever heard of lol.

The airhorns are annoying. I found it interesting that there are so many going off that it's just a continuous tone for the whole match.
