Crushed: DOHC D16 Coupe breaking

Post by Martin »

Firstly, I would sell the entire car as it is for £400, that is the car and all parts attached (below) - when I start breaking, you can still have the car, but anything gone is gone for good. Car failed MOT on rusty front subframe, something I have fought on Honda engined Rovers for years, but never on Rover engined ones,,,,hmmm, wonder why

1. MG ZS Front brake setup - £SOLD
2. Rear disk conversion and brake bias valve - £40
3. Full poly bush kit, from memory front lower arms, front arb links, front arb D bushes, rear lateral links (3 bushes in each), possibly rear trailing arm bushes - £SOLD
4. Blue magnecor ignition leads - £20
5. Distributor - £50
6. Center armrest - £30
7. Genuine Jap rear plinth - £SOLD
8. Any other stuff not listed, ask on here, I can price it up, not because I want to break any forum rules or anything, I am just out of touch with how much stuff is worth.

Because Hondas dont leak oil over it and protect it from rust

Somebody so needs to buy the whole car and repair it... not enough Honda engined rovers on here any more. Hasn't been a decent DOHC D16 coupe on here for years.

Well, i had big plans for it, i had an integra B18C from Jonny, and various other bits, but i also had the evo on the go. And at the time my GF was telling me not to have two project cars, a forum member offered me alot for it, so i grudgingly sold it.

Anyway, back to Martins for sale :)

Hi

What did the engine run like?

Having a few probs with mine thats all so might be interested in the throttle body including tps and the fast idle valve if your willing to seperate from the engine.

Can i have prices on these please.

Thanks
Hayley

Weren't the engines in these cars only SOHC and not DOHC, they only put the DOHC in the GTIs, the coupe didnt get a DOHC 1.6 until the facelift and it was the k series then and not the Honda engine

Engine was fine but unless I find a new owner, won't be taking it out. What age and model is your car?

Hayley, I am unsure how to price it, please make me an offer? I would have ideally liked to keep the engine complete, but if it helps another Rovertech member, I will sort you out :)
