There are more than that. Since the DFT published that information more have been relicensed. The DFT data is broken down into Taxed and Sorn and you are probably just looking at the taxed part. As of March there were 19 taxed, and 28 on SORN.

So about a thousand Tis left on the road, about a fifth of their peak number, 728 taxed, 311 SORNed
A bit over half a million Rovers taxed & 276 SORNed at the end of '10 and a bit under 163,000 MGs taxed, 36k odd SORNed
I also looked at the speeding stats, the percentage of artics over the speed limit on dual carriageways is astronomical (over 80%), down slightly from 90% ten years ago

Roger Red Hat wrote:also, did they ever make a turbo cabby?!? seems to think there are two!
A manufacturer doesn't have to have made a car for it to be registered. There is a turbo cabby owner on this forum who has no doubt declared the engine swap with DVLA hence being in the figures.

Interestingly, most of them are '99 models, seems it sold much much better in 99.
In comparison, the number of EP3 civic type Rs peaked at 18871 in 2006 and there's still 17607 on the road... in fact there's more teg type Rs on the road than there are ATRs, there's over 1500 of them.

As much as I'd like to agree... the thing is, anyone who moans about people breaking rovers also has to think that they're all dirt cheap and if they care THAT much then they can always buy one themselves.
Only 27 on the road in the whole of the UK.... so basically only 27 people in the UK, out of what, 65 million actually care.
