Used to collect, but still have
1 Transformers (toys from the 80's)

Bump.

Firstly, because This has been dead for too long.

Secondly, because I just re-read the whole thing and go to the final post and went 'What the bother? That was this guy's only post on the forum?"

Wow Matt! Didn't realise you had so many Mgr's!

I started collecting vinyl a while back, not that its much of a collection (maybe 200 album/singles combined). I plan to get back into it at some point though. Inherited my dads collection of 70's records kinks, strawbs, beetles and a few other bits and pieces.

If you want to be competitive then it does cost money I use to have tyre warmers and everything that digitally set the temp and they warmed the tyres.

We roughly totaled my complete setup up which was 2 cars and complete spares package for both in excess of £3000

Club meetings are held weekly I have a choice of two indoor tracks one in Norwich the other in Lowestoft so not to far to either.

National events are on all the time but involves travelling and you just book into them online and pay and just turn up.

Same as fishing for insurance purposes my setup was insured for over £10000 you get what you pay for :)

My word! Interesting stuff, would be good to get into just don't have the funds at the min, Tyre warmers! Bet not many had them! And insured for 10000 pound! That must have cost you! Still bet it's good fun.

For now ill stick to the road but in future it'll be something to consider.

What were the circuits like? Gravel/tarmac? Off road!?

It's indoor carpet racing google it.

It can also be run on tarmac no gravel though it would trash the drive chain.

This is worth a watch the best RC race I have ever seen watch it all the way through the manoeuvre near the end is something else

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VaXLtPGrTGQ

My car was as quick but there skill level is something else.

You do have to have quick reactions mine are quick but they are world class drivers. My car was quicker with turbo function i had to slow down more for corners that advances motor up for turbo. That is all programmed via the speed controller using a box. They would of been running blinky in that vid. Practice makes perfect though been about 2 years since I last raced so will be rusty if I start up again.

Cars have to be setup castor, camber, shock fluids, shock rebound ,corner weighting it's just the same as a real race car but a smaller scale.

I'd have a go but my funds don't allow me too at the moment! + don't think I'd be anywhere near there level ever! Suppose they are the world best!

You got enough cars you just greedy

If just starting out racing RC cars you can do it for a couple of hundred quid as you will be graded according so you will race with people at your level.

Have a look here

http://www.rcmap.co.uk/

Pop your postcode in and will show tracks in your area I looked and this one looks the closest to you

Garforth Touring Car Club

Garforth Squash Club
Ninelands Ln
Garforth
West Yorkshire
Type1:10 Electric Indoor

Go down have a look they always friendly but like I say you can start for a couple of hundred quid easy.
