Is it worth fixing my car?

Cheers for that Bobby. So, what was causing it? Was the front pipe lose or just rattling on something?
This car is a pain in the behind though. Had the CTS causing a bit of trouble today. Came off the motorway to go to work and had to put up with it idling at 2500rpm
Parked up in the car park at work and let it settle down before switching off. Was also being a bit of a pain when I went out for my dinner, but after letting it idle for a bit, it was fine.
Checked the oil filler cap and dipstick today after I got home from work, and no signs of mayo. Water level is the same. PS is still leaking... not got round to getting any jubilee clips yet but I just remembered where I have some in the house.
No blue smoke when starting it up today either. Wonder what could have caused it yesterday.
Was out in it tonight and the love just came flooding back
CTS is first on my list of parts to replace.
One thing though, when I sort out the PS leak, what's the best way of cleaning up all the split fluid from inside the engine bay and on the CV gaiter? Just stick the hose pipe in there and clean it all off? What about the gaiter? Will it need replacing? I had a good look at it when I had the wheels off and it's definitely not split.
Also need to get myself some Meguiars Scratch-X to remove the millions of minute scratches that were put on by the car wash. It's so depressing to look at photos of when I first got the car and see her now. She was absolutely mint!

Yeah, the CAT usually sits just after the flexi section. You can't really miss it, bulbous thing about 18" long (hehehehe).
To be fair, that's a cracking 214 you've got there. Best looking one I've seen for ages. The ones I normally see are really showing their age, yours looks tidy
Each to their own for jacking. The best place is the front or rear cross member, just stick the trolley jack under the towing eye. You won't bend anything there, doesn't matter about taking paint off and it lifts both sides of the car evenly. So you can work both sides at once, and position axle stands etc. Doesn't twist the car either.

Fixed the PS leak. Did what Jonny said and used jubilee clips to secure the pipes to the res. I did the top one the other week, but the bottom was still p1ssing out.
Ran my finger under both pipes this morning before I started the car and nothing... not even a drip.
Oh, the blue smoke appears to have died down as well. I checked the dipstick on Saturday morning and the thing wasn't registering any oil
Good job I had a litre of oil in the house. Going to have to get the sump gasket changed ASAP I think.
I'm moving house on Saturday, so Sunday, I'm going to try and do the brakes (thanks Chris!!) and give the engine bay a quick clean. I don't know how corrosive PS fluid is, so don't want to leave it hanging around for too long.
Got some suspension sorted from Nash and some Tubby wheels from Smokes too, so can take my SEi wheels off the car and get them refurbished
But first of all, it's payday on Friday so I'm going to get down to Rover to pick up some new gaskets, a dizzy cap, rotor arm and CTS
Should have it running a bit better at least.

Thanks mate, that's really kind.
rover220 (Mike) is coming up in March to help me fit my suspension. No doubt I'll need a hand with my changing the front hubs to do my brake upgrade or when I change the sump gasket too, so I'll bare that in mind

It's wet, and I think it's PS fluid.
