Contacted me when he saw my coupe for sale , knocked £500 off the asking price for him as he didnt want the wheels , spoke on the phone , text , and exchanged e-mails , seemed very genuine.
On the thursday night he assured me he was collecting the car the next day , so off i went outside in the rain to remove my 17' and fit some sei wheels to the car, also removed the strut braces and al of my ICE to save him some time.
All was going well and he contacted me friday morning to let me know hes on his way , then numerous phone calls backwards and forwards revealed he cant get the cash afterall (after 7 days of telling me hes getting it) so hes going to get a bankers draft, i thought i could trust him so i went ahead and agreed , then followed another phone call saying he cant get one as the money is in his savings account.
He then proceeds to offer to pick the car up (from kent) and leave me his laptop as insurance , really showing he wanted the car and that he would come back over in a few days with the cash and to collect laptop.
I had to declinde the offer and we came to an agreement that he would get the bankers draft that takes 48 hours and meet up on wednesday but in the meantime he would transfer £200 to my bank account as a deposit.
Monday , not answering phone. Tuesday not answering phone and low and behold wednesday his phone is turned off and guess what , no cash in my account from him.
I almost got reeled in by the laptop thing , im quite happy i didnt know as i think its quite obvious it was a scam.
Steer clear imo , and dont let him waste your time like hes wasted mine swapping wheels over etc..
