i have a rover 618,knightfire red with lowered suspension,17 inch alloys, rear spoiler front splitter and side skirts.i think it maybe the sw autodesign edition.
i know its only a 618 and a bit slow but i am not bothered because it looks fantastic.

Ive a 620 ti, my mum (thats right) owned it for 6 years, (she had a blue tickford 820 before that) then went to get a newer one so i snaffled the old.

i think the shock on the bmw drivers faces etc when they cant get past you makes it well worthwhile. I used to have a montego turbo that did 20mpg on a good day, now im enjoying similar performance and 35mpg

I know this post has been going for a while but thought I would reply since I am a recent 600 owner!

I bought mine as I had a 214 and it was boring me to death as it wasnt quick enough on the pull off as I was used to cars with a bit of poke

I was looking around at what to buy once the 200 was sold, and thought that the Ti was what I wanted as it was fast, big which is good considering a recent addition to the family, and Rovers are a great drive!

I bought it from a member of this forum, its a 94 blue coloured one that has been well looked after and I will carry on looking after it as I love it!
I drive a 1994 Rover 620 Ti, and my little toy, a Mk3 Honda CRX Vtec which is dead at the moment!

A newbie to forums but a long standing Rover 620SLi owner. I've had mine for nearly 6 years now and it's still going strong. I bought it coz it looks good andhas bags of room. Recently upgraded the interior to leather and it feels great and am hoping to do a few more minor bits and pieces as well.

I got a 600 because you got so much money for the car. I could only get the 618 until I have another years no claims on my insurance... then I think I am going to upgrade to the TI 8)

The reasons I bought my 618 were:

1 Honda Engine - should last a long time
2 Dirt cheap since rover went bust
3 Big car - I was in a nasty crash as a kid and don't like being in small cars :(
4 It is so God Damn Confortable! ... it's like driving around in your living room :P
5 Lots of creature comforts for what you fork out

The things I don't like but don't care about anymore are:

1 Being able to fix my drivers side electric window in under 4 minutes :o
2 Sometimes having to crunch 5 times before I can actually get it into reverse
3 Turning the steering wheel but the car just keeping on going straight on - bags of understeer :(

One Final Thing:

I love having a tow bar :D Seriously - it's the male version of a parking metre and it rocks!!!

Regards,

Gavin

Yer, but even though I'm a bit older and have 2 years no claims - I still have some very big bills from doing my degree and post grad

... I'm just hoping that 2007 will be the year that it all pays off :? And maybe then I will reward myself with a Ti and a ridiculous modification budget :D

Cool :D This may sound a bit fooked up - but I found finding the right job much harder than that last week of writting up the thesis  I've got there eventually (nearly took me two years of chopping and changing)... it's just a matter of putting the time and enthusiasm in now... once I'm out of my training contract/obligations - roll on $$$

But, the best thing is - I lurv what I do :D

All the best on your next stage post post grad ;)

Always put it in 4th first, then into reverse. Works first time then :)

I too have found that 4th then reverse usually cures it first time :D But on the odd occassion people will see me in a car park doing something which must look like, from a distance, frantically w4nking off my gear stick just to get the car to go backwards :?

That is a cracker !!! :roflmao:

So you want to select reverse relatively silently in your 620ti ... best way to achieve that is to ensure that both the Clutch hydraulic Master and Slave cylinders are up to scratch and bled correctly. The slightest touch of clutch 'drag' when trying to select reverse usually results in the dreaded and undesirable "Kerrrunch".....

My 620TIs dont do that ... and neither does my son's one now since we replaced his clutch hydraulics over the weekend. Prior to that, his reverse gear selection had to be heard to be believed!
Apparently ... in a parallel universe MGJohn drives ....wait for it..... A ..
