Well it starts at 9.30, what time would you prefer to be there? I know us locals can go on earlier so those travelling have a bit more time to get here if they want.

Also, I'm going to try and book the bowling today I'm planning to get 3 lanes hopefully, for probably 5.30 - 6pm I'll update when I've actually managed to sort something.

Quick update.

Clare has booked the bowling for 18:00

She has reserved 3 lanes for 18 people @ a cost of £9.75 Per person (includes 2 games of bowling)

Please don't forget to pay Clare for the bowling as she has paid for this out of her own pocket !

Yep, quite interesting. Clare has all of the results to post up later / tomorrow. Most surprising thing for me was the filter socks were robbing me of 20bhp and 15lbft !!

Time to build an airbox this winter I think.

Hey!

My torque was 267 not 265 - Neil beat me by one!

G- you were right, 20 down on your as expected!

Need to put a few HARD miles on it i think. Were the other results as expected or on the low side our of interest?

was imo a very accurate set of rollers.

I fully expected to be around 20 down on bhp and torque as this is normal for the V8 engine when it's not got enough miles on it, very tight still.

some vids were taken, I rather hope they give you an idea of the volume when i stuck the 260 on.....

Thought Swanny had the loudest exhaust of the day, especially when the vtec cut in, but i of course covered my bases, and had two of the feckers :P
oh yes, it certainly does sound the part.

Neil got the trophy drinks in ;)
next time he'll have the map on his car, so it might not be the same story ;)

and next time we need masks as for half the day it became "day of the derv challenge". Much black smoke was inhaled by all ;)

Just got back from 10-pin bowling with everyone. Many thanks to Clare for arranging it all. It was a good set of rollers with really friendly engineers, and i'm planning on going back in next couple of weeks when the Accufab throttle body is on so I can get a comparitive run.

Cheers

Skatie's GTi a bit poorly?

Nice result G, that should start to loosen up in a few miles. Did you get your owed beer for beating Neil's torque? :P

I got my trophy beer, or more to the point, my mrs did, but I got a coke as well.......
He got off likely, I thought if "anyone" beat him, it was he buy the drinks for EVERYONE :) pmsl.....

Just got back, what a great day. Big thanks to Clare for organising it, shame I didn't run, but 1 car no upto it, and no point in running BRM as no changes made.

G, what a sweet sounding motor that is.

As I think Dan said, it will be like automotive sex, and he wasn't wrong.

Hi,

overall I think it was a pretty good day, again as seems to be the norm on rolling road days there was the issue of a few abnormalities caused by using the rev counter vs roller speed to 'calibrate' the rpm scale.

I think the difference was that these guys where actually willing to listen if you thought there was a mistake and did re-run a couple of cars, however the ZS diesel is obviously wrong and unfortunately didn't get re-run (I'll personally pay for another set of runs for you if you want to give it another go). I also believe as long as they got the calibration right the figures where pretty much spot on or even slightly conservative.

Car of the day for me was Andy's metro, great little car and amazing to see how much power was robbed by the socks.

Swannys Civic sounded mental, along with the Prelude, G's sounded really nice and inside the dyno bay actually made the walls vibrate! Oh, it also made the dyno smoke :o

The post roller events where good and it was nice to meet and chat to a few new people.

Cheers

well i had to match Grant when he broke Ric Woods rolling road :)

The "please get the car off the rollers as quick as possible" so they could cool down the motor and get rid of the smoke was entertaining ;)

As you say Neil, key part was the operators were friendly and would actually listen to the owner, which may sound normal, but my experience most operators think they know everything, and these guys were much better becuase of an excellent customer facing attitude.

A pleasure all in all, and a rolling road i'll have no hestitation in using in the future.

Cheers

A fantastic day had by all methinks! Was great to see some big torque machines on the rollers. They seem like a good chaps, and were very accomodating with running the civic again!

A few highlights I'd like to mention are Neils 'I-cant-beleive-its-not-petrol' smoke free diesel, G's V8 soundtrack, and that mental powered Metro! Not only that, but the 'lude was rather tasy "Mmmmmm Motegi!'.

Big thanks to Neil, Clare and Andy from Intelligent Tuning ;)

In my rush to get some results up yesterday I forgot to put up the 2 different metro figures.

Mahatma - 184Bhp @ 6538 - 155lbs/ft @ 5722 - Metro 1.8K - Without Filter Socks

Mahatma - 165Bhp @ 6778 - 140lbs/ft @ 5603 - Metro 1.8K - With Filter Socks

I personally think it was a really good (long) day. It was really nice to see a few new faces and a few old ones  hopefully we can organise something again.

The guys at the rollers were really helpful and motored through all the cars I can't believe they did 15 cars by 3pm.

Post rollers entertainment was also a good laugh, bowling was split into 3 teams, Mk2 (Skatiechic, E_T_V, Me, Neil & Gazza), BRM (Toni, Dendan, Andy & Kate) Mk3 and Newer (Geraint, Lyn, Jase, Christine & Mike)

Mk2 winner for both games was Gazza
BRM winner for both games was AndyR
Mk3 winners were Mike And Geraint (I believe)

Highlight of the evening.......

AndyR and Neil on the dance machine at the bowling ally  I'll let you all imagine what that was like.

Thanks to Clare and IT for organising the day and evening activities, i certainly enjoyed myself, apart from swanny's second run which gave me headache that lastest well into the evening! No, come to think of it I still have it.

The rollers and operators were excellent, and as said only the RPM calibration was a bit ropey. My torque graph looks spot on to how the car drives, but somehow they got peak bhp and the revlimit way to far up.
My result actually pleased me to, coz it must mean the car is as light as i hoped it was.

Ill post videos of Andy and Neil 'dancing'. Unfortunatly i dont have any of the 2 blondes that had a go afterwards!!

I just got in so I will scan the print out and place it up tomorrow along with some details.

At least we know what it is doing now, so it is a starting point for improvement. We haven't touched it apart from servicing and maintenance since I bought it so we hadn't a clue what power it was doing. It feels fast to me as I was used to driving a 214 :)

It nearly didn't go on at all as it is a bit too low  (Mahatma had to pump the Metro up so it fitted on) .Clare took me out as a passenger in the Coupe oh my god soooo comfy compared to my boneshaker ride.

There are a few things which probably dont help and need looking at, but as I say I will make a post with more details tomorrow and see if anyone can provide some suggestions in where the power has been lost.

Also it was nice to meet everyone and I had a fab time. Many thanks for organising it.

Sorry I haven't posted earlier... been a bit busy.

Had a fantastic day. Was great to see a few old faces and meet some new people. Nice to finally get to talk to Jason about his beasty 214i... shame about the NOS bottle :P

Some awesome cars making pant-wetting noises. I took a few short video clips and some pictures so will sort through them and get any decent ones up on here.

Thanks to Clare, Andy and Neil for a great day. Was also good to talk to you Clare. Big thanks to G for the lift!
