Cheapest for me on both my Rover and the Scooby, and they actually know what they're talkign about, only company I have ever called where the guy actually knew what every single modification the Rover has was, and what it did.
Was £900 FC for the Scooby Type R (modified group 20 import with a high claim rate and reputedly expensive insurance costs, apparently the Type R ones cost notably more to insure for whatever reason)
£720 for the Rover, all mods declared with increase of 90-100bhp declared over standard, think it was around the £400 mark for no mods.
Other companies that others prefer for modified cars are
Greenlight
A-Plan
Adrian Flux
Chris Knott

im doing a conversion at the mo and have a pretty good condition coupe turbo. i was thinking of re-building the bubble 1.4 engine and fitting it to the coupe.
was then thinking of giving the coupe to my girlfriend as its a lot better than the metro she has at the mo.
cheers for the info, may try a few places tommorrow.

MCE Insurance.
Chaps on sxoc.com rave about them too. They beat my previous best quote (Flux) by £100m and the excess is £150 lower. All mods declared etc. Customer service has been excellent so far, very friendly on phone etc, plus gave me top level breakdown cover at a reduced rate. Can't complain.

Does anyone know if any of the above are favourable on a second, limited mileage, no no claims policy? Might be tempted to fire up a second policy.

any reason we don't have a dedicated insurance section? i thought it would be useful due to the nature of the rover cars?
i used adrien flux this year. only coz i was working too much to ring around.
all mods declared ( some not even fitted yet! ) 5 years ncb, 31, married, chef, 4 kids only been driving 8 years though
£525 f/c.

I was quoted £430 fc with any mods I want, aswell as a replacement like-for-like basis and I only have 4 years no claims, driving 5 years, and 1 recent non fault accident, and im only 28 and not married......yet!
They didnt even ask me if I had any kids....Why else would I own a family car? lol!

I drive a 1994 Rover 620 Ti, and my little toy, a Mk3 Honda CRX Vtec which is dead at the moment!
