Gearbox

Post by NoobCannon »

i know this is wrong section but need help asap so i can get ready to fix at the weekend if need be.

my gearbox appears to have gone tonight :x

the car makes a strange noise while going along, and when you release the throttle and let it glide on the cluch it makes a "rubbing noise, same sort of sound as when your tyre rubbs on the inside of your arch " [best way i can describe it] the noise can be eliminated by deperssing the clutch.

could this be anything other than the gearbox?. the speedo needle has been waiving around alittle recently which leads me to beleive diff bearings.
.
the driveshafts havent come out as the car still drives [altho noisly].

if it is the gearbox what sort of rating am i looking at on a 1-10 for removal? [1 being easy] and is there anyone who can offer rebuilds and what sort of price?

speedo wobling is normally diff bearings or speedo drive

The noise you are getting and when you put the clutch down it goes to me sounds like the imput shaft bearing has gone
