Hi, rather than posting a new topic i did a search

found this topic and realised nobody really covered what i wanted to know.
Me and my friend had a thought that we could go halves on a track car, learn about tuning cars, learn to drive better, and get any temptations to go fast on the road out of our systems by going on the track instead.
We thought we could tow the car to the trackdays and then rag it round a bit each and it would be great, but I wondered if we need insurance? The car we would get probably would be uninsurable for on the road as were both nearly 18 with soon to be 1yrs NCB (not enough to insure many/any good cars).
Do we need track day insurance/is it a good idea? seein as on trackdays unless were complete idiots we shouldnt do anythin but get a puncture or maybe get some stonechips from goin in the gravel, so do we need insurance since we will just fix the car ourselves? (sorry if you think that idea is wrong, ive never been to track days just watched some clips, ive realised you can be pretty close to other cars but surely theres not that many occasions where people collide is there?)
Any help on this to set us straight with insurance or our general plan would be great....
Thanks guys
