Yep and it works perfectly.P bought the "powetek" one but it looks more like the one in the second link. It is a ball on spring controller but powertek also do an internally adjustable bloost controller which is just a basic bleed valve too so make sure you get the one in the pics you posted.

My first one did look like the bottem one and it was sh1te.

Looked like some one with a beard and a pipe knocked one out in his garden shed.

Markcoupe sells turbosmart equivalent ones with in car boost control which are ace for just £24 delivered.

They have a boost regulator in the bay and the controller in the car to eliminate spiking unlike those ones with the massive nob on them with TURBO written on.

Well worth a bash imo ! :D

T piece / REgulator plumbs in as usual inbetween the TB and ACtuator , then a pipe from there goes to the controller in the car :)

I use one of these:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TURBO-BOOST-CONTR ... dZViewItem

I cant recommend it enough. Easy to set up, the lock nut works and i never get spikes. I had a GBE on my last 420, but didnt like it, it just wouldnt stay done up.

Should have complained to me then...
As time has gone on, various improvements have been made, but I've never had a problem with it not staying done up...

Sorry it was a mk1 and i never liked its design.

Im sure the others are better, but they are expensive and seeing as how the one i have above works flawlessly and cost me £21 at the time im going to feel that way.

They are all essentially the same design and construction from the varying 'manufacturers', but as has been mentioned Mark's TurboSmart versions look promising, especially for the price. Not so keen on having an in car MBC though as in theory the further you are from the actuator the slower reacting it will be, but worth a squirt maybe :)

Just be wary that MBC's are not always the most reliable of boost controllers. I've had a few problems with mine (15 ish psi), and has required maintenance 3 times now in the space of about 2-3months, but it's what you expect from such a cheap part I guess.

Personally im going electronic before the summer as im fed up of the hassle of fiddling with it. Expensive but it will be worth it on my car :)

Thats the whole idea of it Grant , the boost controller stays in the bay between the TB and actuator, then a controller goes in the car that controls the regulator. No spikes :)

solenoid valves and buttons ftw :D

then you can have a button on the gear nob like a fighter jet that instantly changes boost up to silly psi :D my brother did this foolishly until his pistons cracked hehe i blame the crappy ford ecu and lack of petrol but in reality it was never a safe idea

I bought one of those second hand, same thing again but its been perfect. Its pretty ancient now lol but i never have to touch it and i dont have to tighten the locknut much atall and it never slips.

Have had both a GBE and one of Scotts, and I've been happy with both of them (once I'd realised I was trying to get Scotts to work plumbed in the wrong way! ) never had to fiddle with them once set up, and for the price, can't go wrong :D
