I had a nice big package arrive this morning, in the shape of the R25 diesel instruments I won on the Bay of E for all of 99p.

Nice day, so I thought what the heck, may as well shove them straight in the bubble and see if they work. I think it makes a nice difference! :)

Aside from the usual trick of having to earth pin 3 on the blue connector in order to power up the digital display, yes, they're a straight plug for plug swap. :)

I like the digital milage display.

What other information can it show?

Total mileage and trip meter. That's about it. But you have to admit it looks nicer than the old style. :D

And yes, before anyone says anything, I have written down the dates the clocks were changed and the respective mileages on both. Clocks were changed for cosmetic reasons, not any intent to rip anyone off. ;)

True! Bargain!

Actually, the fuel gauge in 200 diesels has a known fault when it comes to reading too low, so I was expecting a little higher reading with the R25 clocks.

Looks nice :)
Digital odometers always look a lot neater. Analogue ones always seem to have mis-aligned numbers and looks a bit messy.

Although I dont like the way the red line starts so early on both clocks....

That's not the red line, it's the, um, err, y'know.... Super-special diesel enhancement line? The, um, crimson line of justice?

Oh, all right, it's the flipping redline! You lucky ATR-owning mongrel, you. :P

Ahhhh but sheaf i have the best of both worlds at the moment still. 8k redline in the civic and 4 1/2 k redline in the ZS. well they look similar anyway. LOL

Looking good Steve by the way. Must get going on more mods on mine.

I guess these would fit in an R8 too? And any idea if the odometer can be reprogrammed to read the correct milage?

There's load of places here that advertise "odometer correction services" in the free ad pages.

They fit in an R8 if you have a Mk3 dash else they're smaller. Later Coupes had these clocks from the first pic anyway. Other half wants some in the coupe now. :o

Depending on pickup type i'm sure something can be rigged up with a dremel to fix the clocks. :P
