Did you read that thread at all?

£500 aint gonna get you anywhere close to +70 reliably!

Best you could do is get exhaust, decat and look at bigger IC and maybe a T28

So if you read it you'll know that you'll need more than £500 to get anywhere near 260/270 brake then, you're going to have to set your sights a LOT lower on your budget.

Thanks for sorting avatar too.

For £500, I'd get the head done as this will remain a definite benefit irrespective of whatever other mods are done.

With respect, that attitude will get you nowhere. Rob's question as to whether or not you read the thread was reasonable, given that you did not acknowledge having done so. He did not question your ability to read, your eyesight, or anything else.

Grant's answer is a good 'un. If you are aiming for more than 230bhp, you should be considering strengthening the bottom end. You might as well get that part out of the way first.

Set yourself a rough budget of what you have to spend, then double it and you will have an idea of the real cost.

As has been said £500 will not get you 70bhp. Upto around 230 bhp is very cheap to obtain, anything over that will start to cost an increasing amount of money.

This has been covered many times on here, and a search with a few choice words should return a wealth of information which I refuse to type out again :P

Couple of good suggestions here, with headwork and pistons, or a turbo and FMIC.

I think you need to understand what your aiming for to start with and then set a realistic budget.

this alone won't give you more power but it is a good start, lets say a good base line for more power :) after these are fitted you could fit a pulsar turbo and a cold feed air box large fmic and i reckon you could see 250 bhp if set up right on mems (if your'e lucky)
next step is standalone ecu like emerald or dta etc, oh and don't forget free flowing elbow down pipe exhaust too, good luck matey 8) this is my slant on it
there's always more to give and always more to get

Lay a good foundation, then build upon it.

I'd find out, there is a lot of misinformation when it comes down to rover turbos - you find a lot of people who "tune" cars have some very strange and very wrong ideas when it comes to the T series.

Not suggesting your m8 doesn't know his stuff, just as your paying for them would be worth finding out what your buying and then post it up here for comments ;)

Ah ... Dave (Fluke) certainly knows a thing or two about these gearboxes. Take heed of any advice he offers. :)
