Except occasionally and only briefly during some foggy conditions, usually at night, I have NEVER used the so called front fog lights (driving lights?) on my R220 Turbo Coupe or other cars that have them. If you need them to see kerbs and potholes etc under non-fog conditions then you have what is known down London way as dodgy minces!!!!
By the way - why have I put them on during bright sunshine .... It's a BMW dummy...... you think I'm kidding .... good grief!!
Another thing, during really foggy conditions, why do some drivers use FULL BEAM.... all this does is reflect back off the moisture droplets which make up the fog ...... Never in a millyon years will I understand why some do that ...... clueless. Unless they're so poorly sighted that it makes no difference anyway and are driving by sense of touch or smell .. bump bump - Oh that's the kerb ....

.....
AND yet another thing, why at night nowadays do oncoming drivers only dip their main beams AFTER they've blinded you. Back in the 1950-60s when I first learned to drive, and previously when as a child passenger in a car, no driver ever failed to dip their main beams before blinding oncoming drivers. Back then, car lights were nowhere near as powerful as they are today too so it really is not necessary to wait until you see the oncoming traffic before thinking about dipping their lights, by which time you've blinded them anyway!!!.....
Never used to be that way...... what ever next? They'll be hogging the middle and outside lanes on the Motorway next....
