Yers mine:

and another 'ebay special' which failed to reach reserve I bought recently:

Both bog standard. Both Oxford Blue. Both well cared for examples with relatively low mileage. T16 TBO is actually a V-Reg car originally. Both cars were ebayed and failed to reach reserve. My bids were well under the reserve but, both previous owners decided not to relist. Ebay Rover cars rarely reach their true value or realistic reserve.

One of the best descriptions I've seen for a ti was 'the power of a Cosworth in your grandad's car!"

You may have apoint there.Punx0r wrote:Did he take the gearbox apart (open the casing)? If so perhaps the syncromesh collar for 5th gear isn't properly aligned. That does seem to be a common problem.
Belt and braces man me where working on cars are concerned. It pays dividends..
Refurbed several PG1s now and on every occasion I've checked that I can select all six gears and that each works (by rotating the input shaft whilst in each of the six gears) BEFORE refiiting the box to the car. I'd hate to have to remove a gearbox after refitting it becuase I had overlooked such a simple and quick double check.

I had a "dent magician" around last week to go over my 620ti. There were a few very minor car park dents in it, so I thought I'd give it a go. Quoted me at around £40 per panel originally, but I mentioned c@$h. Eventually got him to work on 3 x doors, 2 x wings (1 x front dented by the windscreen fitter !!
) and the bonnet. Cost £160. And now looks very near perfect, for closer to £27 a panel. Some would say thats still a lot of money for about one and a quarter hours work, but I'm well chuffed.
