If that was the one with the supposedly false plates and bilking (neither of which proved to be true) the coppers deserved a slap, not the young lad who was driving. I thoroughly symapthise with his attitude and the logic of his comments.
The one copper lost his rag because he completely lost his argument and the other one was so close to the lad's age that he just wanted to prove how big his willy was. No wonder there is so little rapport between youngish drivers and the Police if that was an example of the sh1t they have to put up with.
I'd just LOOOOOOOVE to see a copper treating me in that fashion
What REALLY pissed me off in that program was the narrator's insistance on using the phrase "fast lane" Not just once either, the feckin t0sser repeatedly used it.

To be honest the kid was a typical 18 year old, and the attitude of the 2 traffic cops was OTT, they should be able to handle stroppy teenagers FFS

Daddy bought him his Type R...
I thought there were issues on both sides in terms of attitude and how they went about their conversations. It started off on the wrong note when the copper wanted to get the driver away from the road.
I like programs like this, I wish there were more! I've even been watching that old program where PC Stamp narrates, can't remember its name now.

He blatantly lost his point and argument, then pulled out his trump card of a £30 fine simply because he was being shown up.

Actually, you'd be surprised at the amount of people who agree with you that I have spokenh to today.
Seriously, can you see them trying the same attitude on with somebody like me, or Rob, or Victor, Grant, James et al? Not on your nellie.
Talk about biased, prejudiced attitudes.
In fact, by the time the phrase "little boy" was used, I was all set to sort them out myself
I must admit, some of the lad's mannerisms were exasperating but I think he had the high ground all the time and his attitude worsened to suit the way the Police officers were dealing with it. Why the hell should he remain polite and respectful when being dealt with like that.
I can also understand the confusion after being given 14 days to sort the number plates out.
Technically he had committed the offence but there was the greatest latitude for education there rather than, as you say, issuing a ticket "because I can".
And I STILL think the narrator was a t0sser for using the term "fast lane".

Cop was OTT, there was no need to drag the guy out of the car or attempt to and make a tripe n onions poor job of it!
Wasnt like they tried to get away or anything, straight over to the hard shoulder and stopped no problems.
After he was basically assaulted by the copper im not suprised he had an attitude on him, but it didnt help him really once inside the car.
If he had just said yes officer no officer he probably would have got away a lot easier or with nothing. Then could make a complaint afterwards with the video evidence....

I didnt see it but young drivers are stereotyped by police and it annoys me. I've had it all in the past. When i passed my test and had the 214 i didn't look 17, i was babyfaced and still looked about 12, used to get followed by police all the time. Even now im 21 when i see police when im at work in a lwb high top relay van the amount of coppers that look at me as if to say you dont look old enough to drive a van like that.
We're all tarred with the same brush, They see a young driver in a high perforance car and think boyracer, no insurance, bald tyres, then when they pull you and cant find anything wrong they will purposly find something to book you for.

I can't accept that although I understand your thinking. You can imagine, I know a LOT of Police officers, and a good few of them are traffic officers.southside wrote: We're all tarred with the same brush, They see a young driver in a high perforance car and think boyracer, no insurance, bald tyres, then when they pull you and cant find anything wrong they will purposly find something to book you for.
I would say that with the possible exception of one, none of them are biased in that way. In fact, that's one of the things which annoyed me about those two clowns last night. I KNOW they are the exception but will get all traffic officers the same bad name.

That lad lives near me and now has a brand new FN2 civic type R ASWELL as that EP3..
Mummy and daddy are loaded and that's probably where the attitude stems from.
They were right to pull him from the car ( how dangerous was that though! ) because they really did think it was stolen.. The convo in the car was very unjust... they wouldnt call me a little boy and get away with it.. to$$ers.

Cops were rather ott after the initial encounter on the hard shoulder but then again the lad was being a bit of a tool too.
One day he's going to have an attitude with someone who'll plant him.
Fortunately, he doesn't live in Europe where most police officers are armed.
I particularly liked the Polish bloke with the unrestrained family who wouldn't talk to the female intrepreter on the phone or the female police officer.
I from Poland , we not talk to woman respectful like.

That young copper wants hauling for that ... the tinky winky handy andy.
I think the lad had every justification for being arsey with them.
If i was in his shoes i would be making a formal complaint and requesting ALL of the video as evidence.
Started shouting at my monitor when the other cop called him "Boy" and then nicked him for his plate. Wonder if there's any follow up to that ,.

lol, the kid is a pen1s.
driving around in a car, that he knows has false number plates.
says its teh "car company" mixed it up. grow the bother up, and take some responsibility and sort it out yourself.
a whole lot of bother probably would have been sorted if he said as soon as he;d been pulled, coulda been diffused much better.
no doubt if his car was stolen, first person he'd phone is the police, or would it be the car company

Not saying he isn't BUT that doesn't give the Police cause to treat him as they did.Scott wrote:lol, the kid is a pen1s.
He escalated his attitude to match them. Not the other way round.
They didn't even have the guts (or common decency) to apologise for wrongfully arresting him.

Problem is that the kids say and do what they want as there are no consiquenses for there actions.
They all think that we should respect them even though they have done nothing to earn it.

Click Here for my feedback threadI can see both sides of the argument here: -
The original build up until they pulled him over and the way the copper ran up to the car and treated him heavy handed was OTT. BUT his reaction to this was wrong imo.
When you then saw him in the car, his attitude towards the police was a disgrace, after all they have got a job to do.
What cracked me up, was the back up arrived and 6 coppers were all talking and discussing it, by the roadside on one of the busiest motorways in Europe, no more than a mile from Strensham Services, so why did they not go there to sort it out!!!!
Where the coppers did themselves no favours at all, is when they found out was the problem was, then started to get as petty as the driver did.
The driver made two valid points, firstly why did they give him 14 days to get it sorted and why were they as heavy handed with him when he was stopped.
As for the ticket, that was inexcusable.
Personally it was 6 of 1, and half a dozen of the other, but the police did abuse their authority and power.
As for what Cableguy says, I totally agree with him, I am 36, been stopped on a few occasions, and I am talked down to, and feel that I am guilty, till I prove myself innocent. Coupled by the fact, I have been called 'sonny' by coppers younger than me. Yeah, I have given as good as I have got, and they tend to back down, when they realise that you are not intimidated by them.
Before anyone asks, I have a clean licence and its usually down to the car I drive, though its fully road legal
As for that kid though, he you could see he was a jumped up, spoilt b@stard

lol love it - kinda got to see it from his side, they have given him 14 days to sort it, within that 14 days they are giving him grief for having not sorted it
and yes, the driver wasnt impressed that he was answering back with valid points, something which the passenger copper looked to be thinking "ah hes right you know"

I think that they were expecting the worst when they pulled him out of the car. But most normal ppl would have just got out with no fuss, he didn't and caused hassle.
He knew about his plates, he knew that he had just left a petrol station without paying(details left or not) so should have been more cooperative.
Paul you wouldn't be talked to like that cuz you wouldn't refuse to get out of a car when told to.
The ticket was pettie but I would say he wont have got one if he hadn't had the attitude. And I would assume the 14days is a if it' aint fixed in 14 days your getting a big fine. Either he miss understood or was misinformed.

I think the policeman who ran over to the car and tried to pull the driver out needs his head looking at!! The driver could have got stuck in the seatbelt, his foot in the footwell somewhere and fallen into the motorway, taking the copper with him. I dont think that was very good practice on the policemans behalf, myself.
So what if the driver was 18, he could have been 180 and still been a gobby sod, his age doesn't matter imo. The police are trained to deal with people in all different situations and ages. I think the police officers got a bit too big for their boots on this occasion, maybe because the camers were there, I don't know.
Ive been in similar situations myself, where policeman have either been straight to point and polite or arsey and cocky. I know my attitude changed between the 2 types!
I have respect for the police, my girlfriends dad is a sargeant and a top bloke, many school friends went to join the force aswell. I understand that they have a hard job, but in this case I think they didn't deal with it aswell as they could have done.
As said earlier, 1 or 2 officers give the rest a bad name.
All in my opinion of course.

Disgraceful conduct by that policeman.
Police are bound by the same laws as anyone else. If the driver of the Civic had grabbed the policeman like that, what would have happened to him?
I think the young lad made his feelings felt quite calmly, under the circumstances. I also think he has grounds for a formal complaint.

I completely agree. I expect a professionl attitude at all times, and that they have the composure not to get become arsey just because a member of the public do.Raistlin wrote: Not saying he isn't BUT that doesn't give the Police cause to treat him as they did.
I couldn't help noticing the "fast lane" thing either.
I remember one episdoe where a man in his early twenties was pulled in his silver escort for no particular reason and he was very angry because he'd been pulled every day for a couple of weeks, and rightly thought he was being harrased. The WPC involved escalated the situation at every point and completely failed to deal with the man's increasing rage. He ended up being arrested for a public order offence, despite having done nothing wrong.
My observations are that the WPC's have by far the worst attitudes - a real chip on their shoulders.
I'm concerned that they probably moderate their behaviour because they know they're being filmed...
It makes me seriously consider joining up because I know I could do a better job.
I liked the old boy who didn't book the biker, and the officer who pulled that truck of cable - proper policing IMO even if it didn't come to anything.

I watched this, there are a few very interesting points here -
And the winner is...
They pointed this out to the lad at the beginning but he didnt seem to understand. I was surprised the police officers didnt persist in reminding him of this.Issue of the VDF does not authorise continued use of the vehicle in a defective state during the 14 day period for receiving notification of rectification;

Absolutely, they same thought has crossed my mind on many occasions. It makes me seriously consider joining up because I know I could do a better job.

Bingo - this sums up why the whole situation got in the state it did imo! Spoilt brat used to everything going his way.Mummy and daddy are loaded and that's probably where the attitude stems from.
