Current 220 GTi - cost me £295, no mods as yet
Previous - 420GSi turbo, cost me £400 iirc and probs spent £150 on mods (brakes)
Previous to that - 620Ti - think I got it for £650, no mods carried out
Before that, my old coupe turbo - you dont go high enough in your poll

And Empsburna! Seems everyone couldn't wait to get them, then once they arrived they went on the to do list lol. I was going to fit mine when I did my rear trailing arm bushes, then didn't have the time and said I'd fit it when I fitted my Ti setup and again ran out of timewalshy.walsh wrote:you too!stefaclese wrote:Oh forgot to mention the rear lower brace that I've been meaning to fit for the past 3 months

It's misleading really, as by the time i've factored in buying my car i'm already in the third category.

I've had my car 6 years and has quite a few mods fitted and removed. In total over the 6 years, including the purchase price of £3200, it falls into the 4th catagory. Though in the first year of ownership I was fleaced for mods by motobodge and the like.

Audi B6 S4 Avant
Rover 221 coupe turbo 255.5bhp & 256.1lbs/ft (in the garage)
Rover 214 Mk3 Turbo Conversion (in bits)
Rover 416 GSi (in the garden)
VeeKay cost me £5.5k and mods have added another £800 approx.
I never got the courage to add up what I spent on the Ti

I've had the car for 7 years now, and because of my constant indecisions and buying then selling, using, changing etc, im probably in the bottom category... but a large chunk of that would have been a lot of ICE. - Currently the car just has focal polyglass v2's in the front, and jvc headunit, but at one time or another has had screens, ps2 etc etc..

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1996-FORD-ESCORT- ... dZViewItemDon't mind them and tbh would have a nice Escort, minimum 400 bhp, but your never getting one of them for 10k lol.
ok not all of them are 10k but you can get one for that money
there's always more to give and always more to get
opted for between 5k and 10k
had car since december 2002 bought it smashed up for 1500quid and sold the vvc engine and box and loom for 1k
then after that it didnt owe me much till i had a cluth slipping problem and decided if im doing the clutch i might aswell do a full rebuild and after a few parts and changing my mind with a few bits its probly closer to 10k

Mine has cost me, well probably a silly amount actually.
Point is that everything has been replaced, it is essentially a new car, and powerful - and if you can find a similar spec 07 car I guarentee it will be more than what i spent on the rover...

I tried explaining this very same theory to the missus a week ago. She still think i should cut my losses and sell all the partsNull_Byte wrote:Point is that everything has been replaced, it is essentially a new car, and powerful - and if you can find a similar spec 07 car I guarentee it will be more than what i spent on the rover...
