Current 220 GTi - cost me £295, no mods as yet

Previous - 420GSi turbo, cost me £400 iirc and probs spent £150 on mods (brakes)

Previous to that - 620Ti - think I got it for £650, no mods carried out

Before that, my old coupe turbo - you dont go high enough in your poll

I bought my Coupe for £1400 in 2006 and have probably spent around £400 on alloys, air filter, Ti setup, braided hoses and a set of polys.

And Empsburna! Seems everyone couldn't wait to get them, then once they arrived they went on the to do list lol. I was going to fit mine when I did my rear trailing arm bushes, then didn't have the time and said I'd fit it when I fitted my Ti setup and again ran out of time

It's misleading really, as by the time i've factored in buying my car i'm already in the third category.

in 2000 i bought a 3year old ti for 5k,then spent 6.5k on mods :o all pre kids/mortgage,was worth it though as at the time rovers were considered un moddable, how does a smoothed 280bhp ti on 19,s grab ya :) Image

My 600 cost £850. I've decided to sell off loads of bits to put into the 600. It turned out to be a really nice car. Its got a couple of niggles but nothing that an afternoon well spent wont fix. :)

I've had my car 6 years and has quite a few mods fitted and removed. In total over the 6 years, including the purchase price of £3200, it falls into the 4th catagory. Though in the first year of ownership I was fleaced for mods by motobodge and the like.

550 for a white 216 gsi. have been planning to mod it with colour coded bumpers, sei interior, alloys, exhaust etc but currently thinking about selling it as im really not a fan of white cars. need something that can be polished properly, like a tarty blue coupe which is what im looking to buy soon

I went for the highest one, though it's probably not much over the 10k.

Car was 2.4k

I should be driving a Cossie?... I think not lol.

Don't mind them and tbh would have a nice Escort, minimum 400 bhp, but your never getting one of them for 10k lol.

VeeKay cost me £5.5k and mods have added another £800 approx.

I never got the courage to add up what I spent on the Ti :(

I've had the car for 7 years now, and because of my constant indecisions and buying then selling, using, changing etc, im probably in the bottom category... but a large chunk of that would have been a lot of ICE. - Currently the car just has focal polyglass v2's in the front, and jvc headunit, but at one time or another has had screens, ps2 etc etc..

If you could take "repairs" into consideration of "modifying" then around ~£5,500 total, £3,000 for the ZR, £700 in mods and the rest in repairs :P

then after that it didnt owe me much till i had a cluth slipping problem and decided if im doing the clutch i might aswell do a full rebuild and after a few parts and changing my mind with a few bits its probly closer to 10k

So a 280bhp escort or a 400bhp rover... hmm

Mine has cost me, well probably a silly amount actually.

Point is that everything has been replaced, it is essentially a new car, and powerful - and if you can find a similar spec 07 car I guarentee it will be more than what i spent on the rover...

I tried explaining this very same theory to the missus a week ago. She still think i should cut my losses and sell all the parts :D
