South West Meet - Plymouth Hoe - Saturday 15th March 8pm

Post by PJW »

Ive decided to knock a meet together to test the water, see if anyone turns up. We've been talking about it for ages now, and heres the time and date to pop along! Hopefully the weather will be more agreeable than it is now - otherwise it will be a short, in-car meet!

Time
Saturday 15th March 8pm

Could be subject to change by a majority vote.

Location

Plymouth Hoe, Plymouth
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plymouth_Hoe

Map:
http://maps.google.co.uk/?ie=UTF8&ll=50 ... 8&t=k&om=1

The hoe is a large, long road which is a one way road. There are two mini roundabouts on it - one halfway down and one at the end.

There are notable landmarks, and parking spaces on the left for the entire roads length. The planned meet spot will be outside the Ice Cream Shed or as close as possible - which is past the red lighthouse, which will be on your right.

Approx 150metres after this crossing and landmark which will be on your right.

Just keep driving round it until you see an ice cream hut on your left. Dead easy to spot.

Directions

From A38

At Marsh Mills Junction branch left (or right dependent on direction) (signposted Plymouth, Plympton, Kingsbridge)

At roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A374 (signposted Plymouth)

Keep in left hand lane then bear left onto the A374

Keep in right hand lane then bear right A374

At roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A374

Turn left onto Breton Side - B3240

Turn left onto Hoe Road

At roundabout take the 1st exit onto Hoe Road

Arrive at PL1 2NZ,Plymouth

The Hoe is signposted throughout Plymouth as a tourist attraction (Brown Signs). If you see a sign for the Barbican, this is also the same area and would make it easier to get to the Hoe (again, signposts for the Hoe are all over the place in the Barbican too, which is a small pub/restaurant district between the Hoe and Plymouth City Centre).

Any comments or names below, please include your car details so we can spot you in the dark!

My mobile number can be provided by PM if required in case people get lost, but with the AA and satnav it should be simple.
Paul.

the speedbumps on the hoe are quite hefty but you need to be slaaammmed to foul on them.

No need to make it earlier, but I warn you.. I'll be wearing my 'morning' face when I turn up... and its not pretty.
